Detailed Surface Scanner not working

is anyone having trouble getting the Detailed Surface Scanner to work.
I have tried to change the binding but haven't found a way to make them work, using a hotas set up.
i had it working just fine in Horizons.

Also is there a way to clear a binding setting and leave it blank.
When I click on a binding position the only way to exit that setting is to pit a binding in its place, i just want to clear it out.

No idea re DSS...

Binds have to be set to one of the other settings and then when you reset it back to the original binding key, it clears the one you want to clear...

Deleting the Binds Folder also works...

Got it working....
it seems that when i switch from Horizons to Odyssey or Odyssey to horizons my bindings get messed up.
I am spending most of my game time just trying to get Odyssey working as it used to in Horizons.

In horizons DSS does not have a key binding of its own, you assign the DSS to a Fire group in the right panel then activate it by changing from combat mode... and switching weapon groups then deploying DSS with the fire group button and camera switches to probing mode when in range and throttle set to 0...

What i was having trouble with is moving the probes target around the planet and firing off the probe.

If you switch from Odyssey to Horizons (or back) ED switches to a more appropriate binding file (usually Keyboard and Mouse). You can switch it back in Options/Controls (Custom in my case - too lazy to define a unique file).

If you want to clear a specific binding, select the slot to open it and press Escape.
