Detailed Surface Scanner

I have listed as a hardpoint, but it does not show up in my Fire Groups.. It used too.. what happened to it? Any help appreciated.

It's a module, not a hardpoint. It automatically operates in conjunction with the Advanced Scanner. Both will activate when press and hold for a complete scan.

With any scanner, to be precise. (And not while scanning for new celestial bodies, but when targeting and scanning an unknown of those - so no holding a button should be involved)

Not quite right. The Detailed Surface Scanner works automatically when you target an object and when you are within range (the range varies for different objects). You don't need to press any buttons at all.

It seems to double the time it takes to scan bodies in fact. (the scan when you select an unscanned navigation target)

I turn it off if I'm not interested in the details of a planet/moon/star.
