Hi,
I saw a post on Reddit where people were saying if you go exploring and discover a new planet, you shouldn't do a detailed surface scan because that replaces the discovery scan, and as a result you lose your discovery money.
Is this true? I'm just back after going out on a mini-voyage (my first, after months of preparation saving up for an Asp) and I have discovered quite a few water worlds and I think I even found an Earth like planet. I'm waiting around outside a system, but waiting for my kid to come back from school so he can do it. It would be a disappointment for him if we lost all the really good discoveries!
It would be a major bug if it is true, people on the other thread were talking about making two trips to the same system to do the detailed surface scan later, but that's hardly practical if you're over 1000 LY out.
