Detention Facility - The Higher the Crime, The Farther The Detention Facility Is

The player should be sent to a farther detention facility the higher the crime is.

ex. If the customer killed a player previously, he will be placed in a detention facility 10,000 ly away from the bubble. The more players he kills, the farther it goes.

This will provide the appropriate risk and punishment in doing crime. I think this will be a great deterent to griefing.

Or create a Crime Hub far away from Colonia and Main hub so when griefers gets sent there, they have the option to pvp with each other. Travelling to cultured space is more of a atonemonet.

Seriously though, I am not for that. It basically just functions as a time-out gate. Its not good gameplay for anyone.

It does sound harsh, doesn't it. :)

Another idea - probation.

A player wouldn't be allowed to leave the detention system until they completed a "probation mission". One mission per bounty gained. :D

It is. But FD said they dont want to deter it in general terms, only add consequences depending on context. Locking people out is a different thing.

OOoh, I got the mission:

"Polish the noobwinder".

You'll need a 'noowbinder polisher limpet', which will repaint their ship. Only after polishing x-number of noobwinders are your sins forgiven!
 
or FD create a Criminal hub with detention facility 5k ly away from the main hub. Once the criminal respawns at the detention facility, they can pvp to their hearts content with other players / griefers. It's going to be quite a travel as a part of paying for your sins as a criminal and dedication to go back to remind you that crime does pay

Again, despite being an PvE only player who has no interest in PvP...I am compelled to point out that shooting at another player is NOT inherently griefing. This is not about punishing "griefers," it's about providing realistic consequences for those whose gameplay leans toward the criminal direction, nothing more.

Yes, PvP isn't griefing. I think this system might work
Someone who, for example, pirate somebody and accidentally kill them (it happens, the damage bleed-through of the cargo hatch is high) won't have THAT much heat on them. Someone who is sitting in Eravate and mowing newbies by dozens, however, will.

I have made similar suggestions prior to Beta release :).
