Detroit: Become Human (now on PC)

Never heard of it. Seems a bit "consoley" from my admittedly shallow opinion of the trailer.

I'll look into it though.

Its a more of a interactive story than a game imo, never played any of those but have watched a few gameplays. It would work better as a short movie but that's just my opinion, never understood the appeal of this type of games.

Sweet Lord Jesus, Fahrenheit was such an abomination it cured me from all Quantic Dream games and made me hate QTEs thoroughly. Dear Lord, the zombie sex was way beyond cringe.

lol, do not know that one. And yes DBH is quite consoley. It was only in consoles for quite a long time actually. It is indeed more of a story than a game but the game elements I find quite elegant and detailed enough though from what I have seen, there seems to be actual choices to make with clearly very radical and different consequences which is one of the main appeals (for me at least).

It was their second game I believe. The opening was quite strong but there was a steep curve passing utter mediocricity with mashing buttons to fill gameplay down to the garbage bin of beyond hilariously silly story. I think it even got a remake, but I have no idea why someone would want that.

Man, I just remembered Space Marine and Witcher 2 QTEs. How I raged! I'm no console gamer, but it still doesn't occur to me to use QTEs as gameplay element. The only game I was kinda OK with it was the Tomb Raider reboot and that only because of the horrific accidents that entertained me when I failed - tho they weren't rage inducing hard. Why Witcher 2 had to include them is still a mystery to me. I guess it's easy and quick boss fight design.

I played Witcher 2 for a few hundred hours and I cant for the life of me remember the QTE Events in it.

By no means saying they weren't there I'm just being probably being senile and the memory isnt what it was.

Please tell me you had the £10 off any game voucher to use?
If the vouchers are still being generated and if the sale is still on you should get heavy rain and beyond 2 souls whilst at it. They are under £4.50 .

Oh I remember one. There was this giant creature with tentacles. At the end (or so) you had to jump around these tentacles but I had a bug where the keys for the QTE weren't shown on screen only for some of them. I don't know how long it took me to kill that one but I remember the frustration to try over and over again to find the right key for the right time.

The heck? Just started the game this morning and the Android that greets you at the main menu just wished me a good weekend and happy new year to me and mines. That was a bit of a shock! :D

Ah, a David Cage game. Naturally massively overrated, and full of nonsense "gameplay", and a pretty meh story. Judging by Heavy Rain though, that's the one I've played.

Not familiar with David Cage I am afraid. I am just taking the game at face value. To be fair, Metacritic gave them around 75-80, so it was always clear it was not a GOTY. Either way the graphics are excellent and so far the story is reasonably interesting, not too dissimilar to Blade Runner in some respects. The fact some of the characters have been (quite well) mocaped and based on actual known actors (Alien´s Lance Henriksen, Highlander´s Clancy Brown etc) ads also an addiitonal bit of coolness to it all.

Lol, I tried to chop ALL the tentacles. Even figured out a spot where the tentacle swipe (when you have to jump on to it) wouldn't hurt (too much) and merrily went on slashing invulnerable tentacles since I never saw a QTE prompt.
I heard today there is a option to disable QTEs - I don't know if it was in when I played it, I probably didn't see or bother about it back then.
