Developer-induced bias in "The Sinner, The Saint and the Saviour"?

Greetings, Commanders. I'll keep this short.

In "The Sinner, The Saint and the Saviour" signing up for Arissa is open to all at Lambardelli’s Legacy in Persephone, whereas signing up for Aisling at O’Hare’s Hanger in Summerland requires a system permit that you only get with Empire rank of Lord or greater.

Clearly the developers have introduced a bias against Aisling here, so I would welcome a statement as to whether that was done deliberately.

Aisling chose to hire people there so its Aislings fault. Clearly Aisling wishes to be more selective. Quality over quantity.

I view it more like the Lords of the Empire got their own personal CG, so its really bias against the rest of us not letting us participate.

Here's something else to consider - not all rival CG are or should be fair. It's not a matter that two teams agree on terms, set up ground rules and equal footing and have at it. One side is usually going to be at some kind of disadvantage - it's up to the players to overcome such a thing if they deem it worthy.

This is sort of what I was getting at.

Agreed. (And I couldn't make it to the CG cos my T9 still hasn't got a decent jump drive).

Whats funny is I saw a thread from 'the other side' saying pretty much the same thing because the weapons were too far away...

Developer bias... Possibly. It could also be a crutch for Imperial players to help reduce the ability of Federation allied players to camp the Imperial outpost like what happened in Quivera.

Plus I think the other side need to supply 10 times more stuff.

Well the GC for Aisling is over before I have had time aside to play ED but reading the details, there is no bias as they are not opposed.

Aisling's goal was collecting food for Humanitarian purposes.
Arrisa's goal was arming rebels to fight Paterus

How are they opposing each other for there to be a bais against Aisling

Arrisa has already had a Permit system GC don't forget.

Not really. It's not the first time a CG was in a system that required a permit, and it's happened for both Fed and Empire in past events, and will again in the future.

The 'bias' is purely imaginary. FD isn't out to get you.

Or are they? Hmmmm

So let's get this straight:

  • The game has been out for 6 months (publicly, at least).
  • There has been plenty of time to grind reputation for each faction.
  • Two CGs are presented two the public: one requiring a permit for one of the three factions in the game, one that does not.
  • Everyone who is not aligned with the Emperor is throwing a fit over the fact that they never gained enough reputation to take part in it...over the past 6 months.
  • Meanwhile, I'm running from one station that is < 60 Ly away from Persephone, and there are 30,000+ weapons available to buy.

Full disclosure: I didn't play the game from around February to May 1st, so I'm sitting at the following ranks: Federation (Recruit), Alliance (Allied), and Empire (Outsider). And you know what? I have absolutely no issues about the Summerland CG. Frakking whiners!

If the two goals were rivaling CG's like the ones we saw in Lugh and Quivira, you'd have a point. However they are not rivaling goals.

I think it's brilliant.

It's obvious that the two sisters aren't exactly on speaking terms.

One, extremely loyal to the empire, has set up a legitimate call for humanitarian aid and has invited only those most loyal to the emperor. The other, has set up a similar call to aid, but we as we know now the type of clothing she is requesting is, a bit more unique. How deliciously subversive.

This Federation Pilot is more than happy to help the poor downtrodden folks in Persephone and make a butt ton of cash to do so. And the best part, I'm getting +REP from the empire too.... How great is that?......<Evil laugh ensues>

I will be keeping an eye on young Arissa and see what other opportunities she provides us to help those in the Empire in need. ....

Make a difference, show you care. Please give generously to Princesses Purse, C/O Lambardelli’s Legacy - Persephone.

I dont even think it matters if they were opposing goals.

Its possible that if one party decides to pay a group of people to do something, they may want to insist on getting what they view as the best or most suitable, i.e. of a certain rank.

And the other party may want to counter this by susbstituting perceived quality with quantity.

Its quite fitting that the Empire doesnt want all and sundry helping out, wouldn't you say?

As some have already stated: this wasn't a competition.

The two goals used different goods and had different scales (aisling's goal is already done while arissa's still has like 5-6 more tiers to go after having had a lot more people chip in). I don't see how this had to be 'fair'.
