Devs, here's your glitched system authority vessel

Behold, a picture of the glitched, hostile Viper MKIV that sometimes shows up in response to a crime committed (sometimes a wing of them). The green contacts are system authority vessels that aren't bugged.

Particularly annoying if you press Next Enemy/Highest Threat and fire, before realising it's a system authority vessel gone mad - or your deployed fighter fires at them before you can recall them.

Yes, this type of event was why I never changed my targeting behaviour all those years ago when they got rid of the rule that you had to complete the scan before you opened fire or you would pick up a bounty even if the target turned out to be wanted.

Turrets of course are never on Fire at Will and having the fighter on Defend or Attack my Target helps. On the rare occasions I have seen this I usually stow weapons, recall the fighter and go somewhere else for my fun. Obviously if you have the misfortune to be doing a mission things are less simple.
