It took me weeks to get back from "Hostile" to "Unfriendly" with the Federation (had just managed it before one of the patches gave everyone a free Rep boost
) and I still can't get back to "Neutral" in spite of doing hundreds of fetch Missions.
Combat is one of the best implemented and most fun mechanics in the game right now, and I am really bored of trading, but I am too concerned that one bad kill will get one (or all) of the major factions shooting me on sight again to risk it.
A few specific questions:
a) Is Reputation working as intended? If not, what changes will be made? (and when?)
b) Where can I go to understand the underlying logic behind these mechanics? (If this has been written up, the following questions don't apply
)
c) Under what circumstances will I LOSE Rep with a major faction?
d) If I take a combat mission for a minor faction allied to a major faction, will I gain Rep with both on completion? Will I lose Rep with the two opposing major factions? How about if I take a mission from an independent faction? Can I rest easy that I will not lose any Rep with the giver or allied major faction as long as I stick to killing who I was told to kill?
e) If I kill someone in an Anarchy system, will this have any affect on my Rep with anyone? How about if I shoot a Security Services ship? If so, what does this depend on exactly?
f) If I see a locally "Wanted" ship, will I gain or lose Reputation (and with whom exactly?) if I shoot him down? Does this depend on whose airspace I'm in? Or the type of government? Something else?
g) Under what circumstances is it necessary to wait for the other pilot to shoot first? (and why?)
h) What are the rules in War zones?
and finally...
i) If I do lose Rep with a major Faction again, what is the fastest way to pay my dues and get it back?
Some clarification would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks
QE
