Game Discussions Diablo 4 announced

Got an eye on this but as with all games of late ill wait for it to come out and see whats what.

Allthough I have been vastly impressed with Destiny two which after playing the original demo which I thought was awful.

Saw its now free to play so gave it another go.

In ten days Path of Exile will announce their next expansion for 4.0 so Blizzard have a strong contender to go against.

After playing POE it will be VERY hard for Blizzard to get me into Diablo again compared to the extreme replayability and sheer options of crazy builds one can do in POE.

Im guessing Diablo will have 4-6 classes with some sub classes at most and a pair of those will be meta builds.

At the same time i can most likely rather easily count 50 different builds for POE at the top of my head.

Destiny 2 the free version is kind of fun, and we get some free campaigns to go with it.

After playing Borderlands however all weapons in most shooters feel...lackluster. My rocket launcher is not firing tiny rockets, something is wrong.

POE is for me too complex to get into tbh. Never liked the fact that there is no gold in PoE. I feel like I have to walk a million different guides on how the economy works etc. Diablo 4 seems to be more accessible as far as i can tell.

The best way to get into it is to simply follow a build guide (a cheap starter build is highly recommended as they aim for low cost and to be able to do endgame content)

It is as complex as you want it to be basically as you can follow a good guide and just smash enemies. I'll admit, it has taken awhile getting into it but the options available are extremely fun, especially when you discover how different things synergize with each other.

example:

  • Wear a ring that makes any chill effect you do be reflected to you (your speed and attack speed is reduced)
  • Wear another ring that reverse the effect of chill on you (you become faster by chill effect instead)
  • Wear a helmet that makes poisons you inflict on the enemy chill your enemies (cue the first ring...)
Now as you stab your enemies and poison them you are layered with frost and your movement and attack speed is increased by 30% (which is damn nice)

As for buying guide, there are trade macros that are a great help that can measure what an item you have is worth and of course POE trade.

A shared world can work pretty good. Look at destiny 2.
I don't think Destiny is a good example. At least not of this. It's a good example how totally ruin the immersion while trying to tell a story about a lone guardian. Nothing says " you're the last hope for the solar system" like seeing four other guardians jumping around erratically, shooting the trees and teabagging dead animals...

If you are interested in it. For me it will be quite the immersion breaker and take everything away they try to achieve with the dark / gritty horror feeling. Seeing people run around everywhere and taking the same quests is annoying, especially if you consider that they want to enhance the narration with cutscenes and stuff. Hey, you just managed to escape a collapsed cave. Hey, looks like that cave just collapsed again!
