That's why I've never played games where you have to pay to advance ingame.

Fair enough but I was actually asking the question in the context of Elite Dangerous.

There was much discussion some time ago around the pro and cons of allowing real-world purchases. I could not find the thread so started a new one.

I have been out of the loop for quite a while, maybe it all got resolved but I thought this was pertinent example.

Yeah theres a thread out there somewhere! if its just vanity items i think thats fine, but buying and selling weapons, upgrades, etc na, just take the fun/chellenge away from the game imo.......says the man who has Founder status with discounts! lol....but thats different of course!

I played D3 without action house (gold or real money). I have no problem to finish the game in HC mode (normal difficulty).
My character have not the best equipment but enough powerful to enjoy the game

Call me cynical but this should be read as 'we weren't making enough money from it',' and it began to undervalue one of our IPs'.

Can't say I am a huge fan of Blizzard.
