Diaguandri - Ray Gateway

I was thinking of heading over to Ray Gateway to grab a new ship and take it to Sag A* but I recall hearing that the station was having technical difficulties related to UA's and such.

My question is.....Has anyone experienced, or heard of anyone experiencing, technical difficulties with any ships/modules purchased there? I don't want to get out into the Abyss and have my ship fritz out on me.

Diaguandri is fine.

I buy all my ships & parts from there, along with Borr.

It's not a one stop shop anymore. Ever since that player faction got control the selection has gone down the drain.

It's good to hear that Ray Gateway is still a good to go. I have shopped there in the past and had always been pleased with the service and selection the dealers have there. I had considered going to Founders World but RG is only 48Ly from my present position

Saving credits and time is a bonus to me though I may yet end up at FW if RG doesn't have all that I need.

Thanks for the input Commanders!

If Ray Gateway doesn't have a part you want, go to the Borr system first, before resorting to FW.

It's also a LYR system.

I bought an Anaconda from Ray Gateway yesterday, and it had almost everything I needed to fit it out. No problems here

Well that settles it. Ray Gateway, here I come.

Now I just gotta learn all the related "fine arts" of the exploration thing. I know how to blast an ADS at a system but that's about it. LOL!

Time to do some extra heavy reading over in the Exploration sub forum.

Edit....

And settle on a ship too. I'm just so indecisive. :D

I ended up settling on an Anaconda. It's my first exploration trip so I wanted to take along some of the comforts of home. :D

I'm sure it has some useless stuff on it, like the weapons. But I feel naked without guns (even in RL) and I might need 'em when I get back to protect all of that data I will have collected.

Well tomorrow I head off with Sag A as my ultimate destination. Maybe this run will reinvigorate things for me as I have been kinda bored lately. Trying new things ya know?

I take it from your name you're a denizen of the north east? If so, allow me to continue this transmission in code.
Divvint forget, ya cannat get aal ya gear at just Ray Gateway, man. Gan awa to lembava if ya wanna geet big frame shift drive. Why aye.
Sorry, that's just the plastic Geordie in me coming out! I tend to find the ships I want at Ray gateway and head to lembava for all the gear - it's also li rong yui aligned, so it still has a 15% discount.

Sounds like the start of the bluestar wing :)

North East? Ummm, no.

But in reality Ray Gateway had nearly everything I wanted for my kit short of the Fuel Scoop. 7B ain't bad though. (link in post before yours)

Oh well, there you go. It's just that Newcastle Brown Ale often gets called "broon" (bottle of broon) and "dog" (as in "I am going to see a man about a dog" or "walk the dog", right into the pub). Your name - broondog. Ta da.

Once you do settle on a ship - get out of the bubble s fast as possible.

I settled on a Vulture. Hung around a bit, got the money and bought an Asp. Trying to get settled in on the Asp, did a few missions to get used to that ship, then had the money and bought a Python. Took the hint and got out. Currently between Ghost of Jupiter and Eight Burst, on my way to SGR A*, probably via Eta Carinae. See this map.

And I'm already debating with myself whether I should go back and get a different ship. Sure, the Python has the nicest bridge (you can't call that a cockpit any more) of all the ships I've flown so far. But that bridge feels somewhat empty with only one seat occupied, there's at least three more people missing in there. But it not only looks like a superyacht, it also handles like one. Scoop a bit too high for half a second, and you can't make the turn back closer to the star (ok, not unless you actually move and grab that thruster control).

Logical but inaccurate.

Rush's (rock group) early career producer and engineer was Terry Brown, aka Broon, aka T.C. Broonsie. An acoustic guitar intro was written for the song The Trees but Terry Brown hated it so it didn't make the final cut. But it did make it onto the live album Exit: Stage Left and titled Broon's Bane.

So back in the 80's thru the mid 90's I was the guitar player for a classic/modern rock cover band and we played TONS of Rush. I always added Broon's Bane to The Trees when we played live. One night a Brother of mine hollered "Broondog!" during his expressions of enjoyment at the show and the nickname kinda stuck at the time.

Years later that Brother wrapped his bike around a telephone pole at about 70mph. He didn't survive.

To this day I use Broondog on all of the forums I haunt in homage to his memory.

The shipyard experiences some malfunctions from time to time...you may end up with a Python when you purchase a Hauler.
No worry, you can file a claim at the customer service.
