Diamondback Explorer as a trader ship

I have the cash for that kind of ship but all I do is trading missions. Seeing as this missions, pay well and dont require much cargo space can I use this ship for that? It only has one cargo compartment stock but can the others be turned into cargo?

Thanks

For trading with 40 max cargo space you will be far better off in a Cobra than in a DBE...

The Cobra is way faster, more monouverable, quite cheaper, same weapons, same max cargo space.

What? No, Cobra is definitely less maneuverable than a Diamondback. That being said, Cobra IS far superior trading vessel though.

Cobra is less manouverable than the Diamondback Scout, but is more manouverable than the Diamondback Explorer. The DB Explorer is a flying stone, handles like a Python. The DB Scout on the other hand is very nimble, akin to a sidewinder, but its useless for trading as it has nearly no cargo capacity.

Does trading, will spend 2million on a ship when he can buy a trading vessel with 3x the cargo hold for half the price of the Explorer. I see nothing but logic in this. #SarcasmFTW

No, he is not trading, he is doing trading *missions*, which do not require 100 tons of cargo hold. You'll be hard pressed to use more than 30t at once.

And regular market to market trading is so incredibly unprofitable compared to these missions, I'd say the Type 6 is pretty much obsolete.

I've just done this and give from Cobra to DBX. Depending on configuration you're going to be down about 8 tons of cargo space. It can't boost away from trouble as easy and it didn't pitch as well.

On the plus side it's energy mgt is very good and it has 2x med 1x large which means you can give it a decent sting for those intercepting. It's shields aren't as strong but you can fit 4x utility so a couple of A0 shield boosters help. Hull is very tough as standard and can take a pounding. Biggest thing I'd that jump range is superior to Cobra.

Personally, I gave it a go as I was wanting a bit more firepower than Cobra could deliver, but its a real tank so not ideal as a multi role ship.

I'm considering getting a DBS (which is awesome for BH) and a Type 6 for trading. DBX is just not really value for money, although it is interesting.

Well I currently have a cobra maxed out on everything but weapons. I have no weapons what so ever, nor do I engage in dogfights. I just wanted some more "style" while cruising :p and I dont have 16m for an ASP.
I wanted to go with the scout but that one has no cargo at all according to the wiki.

Edit: been flying on my pizza slice for too long and want something that looks like a ship :p
