Ships Diamondback Scout Owners' Club

I loved the look of the DBS, I just had to get one. Actually in the bigger sister out in the EAFOTS sector at the moment, but hope to return before the new year to give the Scout a spin. Really wish FD would release some better paints for it though, even if it's just the squadron paint set...

I have enjoyed my time murdering pirate npc's in Hi Res and CZ in DBS on many occasions. I often fit it with a shield and cell bank and the last two with Hull reinforcements. If my shield drops then I use the speed/agility to doge as much fire as possible till re charges. Never lost one yet and I'm happy to take on elite condas as stuff even if the local cops aren't attacking them first :)

Looking to get back into a DBS to help flesh out my Lakon fleet! Gonna be interesting to see how it works now that I'm 100% FA-off for some time now and been flying much bigger ships mainly.

A few months ago it was my favorite of the smaller combat ships, preferring it over Viper III, Viper IV and DBX for the role due to really nice handling and good speed and hardpoint placement. I think I had a better go with DBS than the others in my CZ experience in those days. I admit I haven't flown it since then (or spent as much time in CZ's) but I never really tried engineering it either, the results of which might be fun once again. Its lack of internal space (only 4 modules) handicaps it a bit for more general mission use.

Still loving my DBS. It's not my main ride anymore, but I just love how zippy it is. My one wish is that FD would add some exploration-only (fuel scoop, scanners, veh. bay) optional internal bays. 2 class 2 bays would be perfect for discovery and surface scanners.

Been a while since this thread has been active, but the DBS can punch far above its class in anti-xeno combat. This is due to its excellent thermal characteristics, great speed/manoeuvrability and its four utility slots (for heatsinks) which allow it to effortless orbit (or outrun) Thargoid interceptors and avoid taking incoming fire. This is the build that I do that with.

Taking out a Basilisk, the fastest Thargoid interceptor variant.

Katie Byrne did a great review of the ship for AX here:
