Newcomer / Intro Dictor weighting with different ships?

How is the dictor weight/strength worked out for different ships? Reason for asking; I often fail to escape in my Cobra as the exit 'wapps' around like a ferret on amphetamine, but when in my T6 it's a lot easier, I've not been dragged out of FSD once.

So there's obviously a calculation on ship size or manoeuvrability, I wonder if it could do with a bit of a tweak. Not that I want to make my T6 any more vulnerable.

I know a lot of people say just surrender, high wake out and back again, but it takes a lot less time to beat the dic.

(wapps - sudden random movement. Or female body parts. Or a sandwich alternative for those with a lisp.)
 
Again, I'm afraid nobody has the exact numbers and ratios, but simply the bigger the difference in mass between the ships, the harder it is to succeed for the smaller of the two. But I can't tell you a "ratio" or so. In fact I think nobody can.
I am not aware of any table that would say for a Cobra - "To escape the Python is 2.43x harder than to escape a Vulture" etc...

The rating of the FSDI supposedly plays a role, also, but personally, I never saw any measurable effect (Other than being able to work on larger distances, of course)
 
I find it's more highly dependant on the enemy ship and rank. There is a factor for your ship but it's less important than the opponent I believe.

You can use "select highest threat" key to see what npc is interdicting you.

So, working on the above, a Cobra will have a harder time successfully dicting a T6*, and the other way around the opposite would be true? I guess that kind of makes sense and is a pretty fair way of doing things. I get the idea of the rank of the aggressor too as some are so much harder to escape than others.

*I'm not for one minute suggesting going out to dictor people in a T6 would be a good idea! Although as an experiment....

I don't believe its much to do with the difference in mass. I have a heavily engineered Cutter - if I fit it with the best interdictor possible I still find it nigh-on impossible to interdict anything - and the Cutter has considerably more mass than even a Conda - never mind a Python or smaller. So no - not much to do with mass at all....

Cutter has another problem and major flaw - she doesn't turn. :)
It doesn't matter that you weight a 2500 tons, is even a T9 will outturn you.
 
So I was correct - its not just down to mass then. BTW - with DD5s the Cutter out-turns a stock T9.

Not just, no. The FSDI rating, opponent's rank and other things play part.

And it doesn't matter if you have DD5s, Cutter is still not maneuverable enough. The attacker has a serious disadvantage during the interdiction. If the "victim" slams brakes and gets close, then even a small change of direction and full throttle will shoot them out of your interdiction arc.
