well I just watched the VR panel from lavecon and it seemed a bit of a hatchet job tbh, knowing what i do about VR going back to the DK1/2 and having tried all the main units inc PSVR there seemed some rather heavy bias towards oculus also a fair amount of misinformation too one example was the deluxe head strap is £100 not £200 as stated,
Also the piece at the end about the knuckles controllers seems very misinformed no mention of 5 finger tracking etc http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=953648265
some of the oculus points were fair, but not one plus point for the vive was mentioned.. no walled apple-like garden, better tool presence with the controllers, extra FOV (with 6mm mod) esp vertical helps with immersion, better brightness/colour deeper blacks, far less pupil swim, it already has a wireless option, reduced god rays especially important in games like ED, more comfortable for bigger heads and most of all the superior tracking which has a larger tracking area and was designed for room scale from the ground up.
I expected some bias (we all do it) but this one man panel was really disappointing and factually incorrect in parts if I'd had been there I would of had to say something to correct the mistakes..
Otherwise thanks to the guys @lave Radio for all the coverage of Lave Con guys its been really good so far,
sorry for the rant but it saddens me when i see this sort of VR coverage.

Edit: Btw I'm not trying to bash the rift I think its great piece of kit and you cant really go wrong with either headset,
Also I do agree the cheaper rift without touch is the probably the right choice for ED/flight sims/racing games, but as soon as you start talking 360 deg and room scale I'd take the Vive.
