Did anyone loose their ships due to "old layout" buy back bugs?

The reason I'm asking is because I've recently bought an expensive python with upgrades. I've heard some rumors about people not being able to choose "old layout" even though they had enough insurance money..(???) I read it on Facebook. A guy supposedly lost his ship this way. I just want to ask the community here if this ever happened to you? Did such a bug ever occur?

Pardon me for this silly question, but I'm afraid going to war with this ship in case I would not be able to buy it back.. I know it sounds silly, but it wanted to ask you guys anyway if this has ever happened. I also know that FD isn't answering tickets within a few months, and that makes it worse if such a thing WOULD happen. I just want to clarify.

Tldr: did you loose your ship due to a buy back bug?

I will lay 3/1 odds those posts you mention were not bugs but people failing to take in to account mission penalties on death in to insurance costs. I lost a ship early on and could not buy back the modules with cash due to mission failure penalties eating up my insurance savings. So had to use the loan function.

So if you take on a mission, check its penalty costs and factor that in on top of your insurance and you wont lose a ship.
