did even this happen to any of you

Bounty hunting for community goal in RES .

Just started thinking about go land back all bounty, have bad feeling that something bad could happen.

than I see wanted python and by reflex I hit turbo , was sure I go correctly between asteroids , but I scratched something by my wing what was enough for big boooom. 5 mill insurance + 7 mills bounty, + reward as those bounty could easy bring me higher than 70% I am now.

Ouch. My condolences.

I've hit boost inadvertently and hit a station before in a fully loaded T-7. Not my best day.

I think this comm. goal will be at 70% for me, no more time to hunt such big amount, even tried again and one npc run in to my fire, got wanted, almost got killed bay I think million vipers. have independent system close , one jump but station is 5k ls away. lol

Almost this exact thing happened to my friend about a month ago. He's not played the game since!

When it's dark in the RES, or when turning at speed, I take massive care not to hit a potato. I learned doing what you just did...

I've found that a well crafted Vulture will bounce off asteroids even when boosting :D

My first flight out with a fully spec'd Vulture was out of a Coriolis type station with these two really long booms extending out from opposite outer sides. Immediately anxious to try out the combat, I had set a local destination to run to, but it was "behind" the station entrance. So I slipped out mail slot, rotated 90 to the right and pitched "up", skimming the surface of the station. I get about 1/3 of the way around and boost ... and not a full second later see the rotating boom I had forgotten about coming down. The Vulture owners out there can all understand when I say, it maneuvers like a dream ... unless you're boosting.

Needless to say, that station had a mind to send me out of the system "home run" style. But after taking the batters swing, bouncing off the station's surface, and waiting out the 3 to 4 seconds of flight assist attempting to stop all the spinning, I see that I still have a single shield bar left.

Asteroids are currently the second most dangerous enemy in the game, only beaten by the mail-slot walls. :)

Ahh... hit by the hammers of death!

They do kinda take you by surprise don't they... They've been doing that to me since First Encounters!

It's very rare in a 'collision with station' incident that a pilot can claim: "It came out of nowhere, Mr. Space Officer!" and actually not be lying. I probably got lucky with a 'foul tip' or something. But regardless, the fact that it didn't pop my shields spoke volumes about the Vulture.

It says "heavy fighter" on the tin, and what a tin :)

Umm, actually: not always. (Although most of the time I would agree.)

But earlier today I was FA-off in a RES (trying to learn that stuff) with 1-1-4 pips to weapons in my pimped Vulture, and had just fought an Anaconda in wing, so shields were not fully loaded. I boosted towards some flashy lasers indicating more prey and went for my drink... yea right.
While boosting forward I also still slid sideways in my original direction and consequently not even grazed an asteroid I had aimed to the side of. Although it was not remotely close to the loss of OP, it was still an embarrassingly loud "Eject! Eject!" from the ship's computer.

Insurance claim #2: Full of palladium type 7 boosting past Hulk Smash station arms. Not quick enough
Insurance claim #4: Fancy pants strafing my final conda @ RES in a vulture, strafed right into asteroid.
Near claim: Testing out battle python @ RES, getting all fancy with FA off toggles, forgetting that my thrusters were in reverse, backed into asteroid. Only reason it was not Insurance claim #5 was I was at low throttle.
