So, I've been playing for about 3 or 4 days now and have built up around 30k credits (plus upgraded several components of my Eagle).
I'm having a little jaunt in space and I come across 4 cannisters of platinum. I hadn't ever used the scoope until now so I scoop them up; then realise they are classed as stolen. What to do? Well, I decided to try to find a black market to sell them in. I make it into the station but there's no black market so I leave. Approximately 10 feet outside of the station I get scanned so I boost and try to do a runner. A warning of a fine of 75,000 credit flashes up in the corner of my eye
Panicking, I jump to another system and then another one and end up in LT 15449 (Reilly Dock) and see a black market that I sell the platinum in. I check for fines and there's nothing there. I'm not showing as wanted or anything.
I'm not sure what system I was in when I got the fine but it would be within a couple of jumps away. Are fines limited to individual systems or by faction or something. Reilly is Federation so I may have been in an independant system.
Or did I somehow get lucky ...
