Did I Just Buy A Beta Game for $65???

First, I am having fun playing the game (with that initial "everything is new" FOR NOW feeling).
But content is definitely lacking.
I mean $15 extra for some rides that would be STANDARD in any amusement park game.
The bugs I can deal with...it just came out, and I trust they'll fix the bugs. HOWEVER, the content?!?!? It feels like they are purposefully giving us a stripped-down version, just to make more money on DLCs. And not "cool New Stuff" DLC's...I understand making money off of that. I'm talking about making money off of DLC's that contain things that should have been in the Base Game.
I recently found out Frontier made RCT3. WHAT?!? They made RCT3, which when "Complete Edition" came out was FULL of content, polished, and already had Water Park options....but they give us far less content years later after mastering RCT3, and deliver a lesser product? Come on Frontier! I actually NEVER leave reviews, but this game was released too early and STRIPPED DOWN on content.
Hope you redeem yourself. cough....City Skylines 2....cough

PC2 has been out for less than 3 weeks. How long after the initial release of RTC3 was the complete addition?
Right, but they made RCT3.
That'd be like buying a Nissan Rouge and it has a lot of great features...later they release the Rouge "Complete Edition" and it's just Great!
Years later you buy a Nissan Murano form them, and the Murano has less features than the original Nissan Rouge! Like they forgot how to make cars or something.
But THEN they offer to sell you the "Road Mater Package", which will add the following to your car: power windows, Bluetooth, ABS, All-Wheel Drive, etc for $2K. ALL THINGS THE ROUGE CAME WITH STANDARD SEVERAL YEARS AGO!

Ii can tel

l can see that this conversation isn’t going to go anywhere if you can’t see why that metaphor doesn’t work even a little bit.

Just as a little fact, Planet Coaster 1 was actually more expensive to be part of early access and alpha test than on release 😅. Also there are the same number of themes (though different) and significantly more rides than the original game on release. We have 'almost' every coaster including every DLC from the original, plus over half the flats and tracks of the entire of Planet Coaster. So there isn't less content than the original at release. It's significantly more. You can't compare to RCT3 complete edition.. Vs RCT3 as that was just the same game bundled with expansion packs. That's like comparing base PC1 to PC1 with all DLC. Base PC1 and Base PC2 with content. PC2 has more.

lol RCT 3 was a buggy mess even after the release... And they did beta testing too! (I know because I was able to sign up and be apart of the beta testing for the wild expansion back when atari had the beta testers program).

That being said I get the point you're trying to make how RCT 3 came out initially as a solid theme park game, had the splash water park expansion, and then the wild zoo expansion where each expansion did add flat rides, coasters, and scenery elements that were extras along with the game expansions that each mainly focused on adding the extra water park and zoo stuff that they did. Although at the same time that's mainly because games releases were different back then as there wasn't really the same capabilities of updating the game as there are now where they really had to get everything polished before release otherwise they'd have a broken game release, which would be a huge problem as PC games were still sold as physical copies back them. So while that's true about how RCT was released as a more complete game I don't think you realize how different PC 1 at launch even after the beta was finished, which people who pre-ordered the game had access to it. If you go through all the updates, you'll see a large amount of content they added over time throughout the game after release including a number of coasters, flat rides, and scenery even without including the paid DLC content as well as a lot of game functions and features. That's why my opinion is that there's really no reason to be freaking out that much that the game is pretty bare bones at the release as it's more likely than not that there will be plenty of free content added down the road including scenery and rides. With that all said I'll conclude by pointing out how game releases are much different these days since there's a much easier capability to update and add content after release compared to back in the day when games came on disks... It definitely is nicer when a game is released with its' full set of content upfront, but it's definitely much more common that games release with the expectation that more content will be added down the road vs everything being available at release without any future content expectation besides paid DLC "expansion" content.
