Did imperial hammers go the way of advanced plasma accelerators?

I have the opportunity to purchase some after this week of PP. Are they still any good, or did they go the way of the dodo like APAs did?

they're still good, slightly more DPS (and heat)

The extra DPS is handy, you lose some when modding feedback cascade etc.

Imperial Hammers are very good weapons.

That being said, the recent changes to the heat mechanics, in my opinion, have rendered them effectivly useless. I'm keeping mine stored on a few Vipers in the hopes that they will make a comeback some day. Pre-2.1 they were extremely fun to use.

IMO the extra heat generation means it's become even more of a "module-sniping" weapon than before — becausing using them for shield stripping isn't worth it any longer.

I was considering using them on a FdL with clean drives. I do have a grade 1 overcharged PP, but got lucky and got some extra heat mitigation with it.
