Ok so i have been playing around with hull tank small ships lately on my xbox acount and in a haz res the missile spam from npcs is pretty opressive.
I have one PDT on my viper and a chaff,
And if i have an enemy with missiles, he will spam them at me constantly and with deadly accuracy and my weapons and PDT will melt off my ship in a few passes.
This didnt used to be the case when i played on PC a few years back in the same viper build, the point defence would shoot down the missiles very effectively and i only had to worry if it was multiple ships fireing multiple missiles at me at once.
So i made a swap to a DBS and put point defence on the center top slot and both wings... they shoot down seekers most of the time but dumb fire seem to get thrugh all the time and again after one fight i have melted weapons no more module enforcement left.
I rarely see them fire and often i can see the seekers on radar for a while as they curve round from the enemy ship and it takes a while before the PDT even activates. The ships are usualy with in the 2.5k range of PDT so they should be shooting them down shortly after they launch.. shouldn't they?
The days of the fat green bolts that would fire off and destroy missiles like a boss have long since gone i think.. i cant even rememeber when they changed them to the tiney little green dots we have now. I mean PDT has been kinda redundant since shilds could pretty much ignore them.
I mean missles are pretty niche any way now and so are hull tank builds.. at the least the PDT could actualy be effective and need to be dissabled or over whelmed to get missiles thrugh. I know on large ships its good to have multiple PDTs to cover all angles if you feel the need to stop small ships from shooting your PDT blind spot but realy now, that front center utility slot on a DBS should deal with all missiles being shot from infront of you.. but it doesnt!
What happened? And for god sake why?
Am i doing some thing wrong here? Is the DBS utility mount in a silly place and gets blocked by some small pice of the ship or some thing? I'm shure it didnt used to be this way?
