Did they silently update the FDL headlights?

Since the FDL was introduced, and particularly since Horizons, I've considered the ship to have some of the worst lamps in the game.

I don't recall them illuminating this well...outpost is ~500m from the ship:

Did the last update change this?

I fly with my lights on all the time in FDLs and Pythons, afaik the lighting hasn't changed since 3.3. On some planets the headlights are just dimmer though, for all ships.

I'd say they are upgraded, as those lights are pure white like an LED or HID headlight, whereas I remember the FLD as having a vintaege "feeling" yellow tinge to its lights somewhat akin to a halogen bulb.

I think there's probably too many potential variables OP. Could be the lighting is different on different planets which makes the lights look diferent. Could be that your video card and/or game settings are different than they once were. Could be other factors.

Does look unusual for an FDL for sure. I fly a Python a lot which has probably the best lights in the game, when I switch to an FDL it's like I'm lighting a candle in the cockpit by comparison.

I pulled this image from google, but it sort of shows what I mean by the colour temperature of the halogen bulbs I used to imagine a FDL's head lights being powered by compared to the HID/LED that say a python as being powered by:

It definitely feels both brighter in raw illumination and whiter in color temperature to me, but I cannot rule out it being something I've done to the settings since then.

I'll have to see if I have an old video or screen shot somewhere.

Compared the lamps vs. the Corvette and Mamba, both of which used to have dramatically better headlights than the FDL. They all seem pretty close now, so I'm almost completely certain that the FDL lamps have actually had their brightness and color temperature increased.
