Did you actually use the rift while you were developing for it?

So. I had no issues in the beta.

Are you guys using a rift above DK2? I don't really know how you expect anyone to see that menu.

And yes. my display is centered to perfection

Here's an example of your menu; Write something on a piece of paper as mall as you can. now stand right beside someone. Walk about 5 feet away making sure their you are still parellel with each other. Can they read your note? No, they can't read your note, Now have them turn towards you. Hold the note forward don't rotate it towards them. Can they read it? No they can't.

That's your menu in VR.

Absolutely no head turning should occur to view the menu. It should be front and center at all times with no exception. This isn't because of some ridiculous internet nerd demand; it's because that menu is not visible and not readable.

Also resolution is not a problem, that menu is unreadable at any resolution. and it worked without any form of flaw whatsoever during the beta. it's because of a change you (the developer) made on your end after the fact.

Other than that the game is pretty great it's just not usable on VR. and the only reason it's not is because for some reason you think people have the eyes of a squid.

Something tells me the OP is blind, I can see and read everything fine. Just as well as my normal monitor. OP, issue is on your end mate. Don't expect everyone to have the same experience as you.

I can tell you this kind of thread won't get you anywhere with the
devs.

OR won't be fully supported and developed for until it is released as a consumer version.

ED is absolutely useable with the OR and one of the very best implementations to date.
Text is also readable if you know how to get the best out of the DK2

@OP - you *have* set your IPD correctly in the Graphics Settings haven't you?

And you've got the correct cups in the DK2?

Also, change your hud colour to a Blue rather than Orange as that improves the contrast quite a bit.

Blue works better than Green for me, but ymmv (also, I can't stand having a green hud!).

No issues here I can see it fine, yeah its a little small and weird that's tucked way up there in the left corner but no problem to get at with a mouse

When I had my DK1 I thought the menu placement was ridiculous. It should always have been dead center, that goes for all the internal menus as well like controls and gfx etc.

One thing to consider, the Note 3 (the screen that the DK2 uses) has had some issues with burn in with blue. Google "note 3 blue burn in screen" for some information. It's not something I think most people need to worry about or anything, but some people that play for long periods might want to keep that in mind if they do decide to go with a blue hud/text.

You might be exaggerating to a very high degree to say its just as readable as your normal monitor. Unless you are on a 640x480 CRT.

That being said, I have no difficulty reading the menu in the rift. I just lean forward a bit and look at it.

That ALSO being said, the menu shouldn't be off the the top left - neither on a monitor nor on the rift. It should be front and center.

No, I can read it just as fine as the 42" screen sitting right in front of me. I use a blue green HUD color and do not have issues with any text in game.

I do wonder what settings and level of eyesight some people have here, I see complaints about text readability, unable to see ships or comments about ED not being usable with rift. It's fine on my end, and I have had roughly 20 or more friends come over and demo the rift over the last few months.

The only big difference between my monitor and the DK2 is the fine mesh effect that you get from the pixels, the clarity for me is not a problem at all.

Perhaps it would be good if some actually posted there settings and HUD color setups?

Just to clarify my setup - I have a 42" LED 1920x1080, plus a 50" 4K TV that my girlfriend has nicked for for watching films.

Perhaps I am just used to gaming at 1920x1080
