Did you upgrade Sidewinder or buy new ship?

Hello,

I have my Sidewinder still and about 60k, would you upgrade or buy a Hauler as I'm doing cargo trips? I also just realised I have an Eagle sitting in a ship yard.

Thanks for any adise.

I upgraded my Sidey as mush as I could then sold it to fund my Cobra.

The Sidey is a very capable little fighter....don't underestimate it as a Bounty hunter but as a trader I would go to a Hauler or Adder as soon as I could cover the ship, insurance, and a load of cargo.

I upgraded my sidey. Its a capable all rounder outside of trading.

After 50hrs or so I am going to stow and try summat else for a bit

I have 120k in the bank and still in my sidewinder with basic fuel scoop as the only change.

Having said that I am looking for an Addler

So did you mainly do bounty missons with it, what mods would you recommend upgrading to? I'm just trying to work out how to get some cash and it has slowed down. It has taken me about 10 hours to for 60k.

Try out the Eagle for a bit, do some bounty hunting and pirate killing. It's a lot of fun and very profitable just now.

You can also continue to do both in the Sidewinder of course.

I upgraded it, but only to C-rank equipment (for the most part). I ultimately sold my Sidewinder to help purchase equipment for my Cobra, which I fly today. I also sold off my starting Eagle.

For what it's worth, the sidey was an awesome ship to start with, and was more than capable of handling itself in a variety of situations.

What hardpoint upgrades are good for the bounty missions? or did you stick with the default pulse lasers to start with?

I've always followed the following method:

I upgrade whichever ship I'm using to the max, then use the funds to start my new ship up with some decent upgrades.

I upgraded it. But doing higher ranked Anaconda missions is tedious. The sidey should have class two hardpoints instead, then i would have kept it

Did you just use the bulletin board for bounty missions, I'm not sure if there is another way as I can't find any at a few stations I've been to?

just fly to the nav point and stooge around there, you'll soon find someone wanted.
Or you could chase down unidentified signal sources

Go to the extraction zones or Nav Beacons....you will find a lot of Bounties for the taking. When in the lower end Sidey just take on other Sidewinders, Haulers, and Adders (without a lot of armaments).

I did Upgrade her to the fullest......... She was a beauty! Then I discovered the Adder at that shady vendor around the corner.

Fell in Love by the first sight, but that liason came to an end, too.
