Did your first docking tutorial experience look like this?

You have got to check out this guy's video. I am not responsible for any damages due to laughing too hard and falling out of your chair, peeing yourself or frightening your children or pets... (this also includes choking or strange looks from your co-workers)

:D

In Open I also play once Sidey Pinball .... look similar the like in the Video. But finally (even in the beginning you see...) he learn how to dock.

Omg I am grinning ear to ear.
But after completing a controls binding session the last thing you need to do to test it is to try the docking tutorial.
Much safer at the shooting cans section while you check everything out. But thanks for the giggles.

Looks like my undocking yesterday right after having changed my bindings.

Never change your bindings while on a landing pad, always do so in open space.

Oh christ, excellent...! I played with mouse/keyboard initially and my first attempt after hitting launch had me spinning uncontrollably on the pad until I was destroyed for loitering. Soon learned to swap the x-axis around... Deadzones, what deadzones???

Maybe the ship UI should refuse to accept launch requests if the throttle is not at idle. The ship gives that 'engines disabled' message once you have docked, so it might be reasonable to assume that since it won't allow you to run them full throttle whilst docked, it should protect you from effectively releasing handbrake and clutch with the gas pedal on the floor. Or maybe spaceship engines can stall too.

My first few attempts in alpha were very much like that, especially from the thrust being on on the joystick. :)
Many happy and fond moments tangled in the station and landing upside down.

Thanks for the giggles!

Shok.
