Difference between High/low intensity conflict zones and war zones??

So, I'm at Sorbago seeing two capital ships(War zones),And it's clearly where I could go to help Empire! However, I'm quite confused about these High/low intensity conflict zones. What are the zones for? Will it affect the system war just like war zones?

Also, I'd like to know is picking up war zone missions the only way to help gaining influence?? Can I just jump to the capital ships, keep shooting down enemies without going back and forth returning mission and still able to gain influence for Empire?

And how often does the % of influence update? I've been fighting at war zone and it's still at 28% for the whole day.

Low intensity combat zones have a bit less demanding NPCs, so you should be good to take them with well fitted Cobra. (or even less, haven't tried it myself yet).
High intensity have much better equipped NPCs, you could say they are dogfight veterans and if you're unexperienced / don't have top-notch ship, don't go there, you will die quickly.

Do both zones considered as war zones? Meaning i could still finish up my war mission?
