Difference between lawless and wanted.

What's the difference in terms of engagement particulary if the target is a federation ship? I am friendlly with federation and attacked some federation ships which were lawless but stopped because I was worried it would affect my status. I am un factioned as well.

If you kill in an anarchy system, or in a combat zone, there is no wanted penalty. You will lose some standing with the minor faction for killing their people.

Lawless is used generally while in an anarchy system it means you won't get a bounty on your head for shooting them nor will security turn up, you will lose standing with their faction though

Tell me about it, me and a friend decided to go to V1851 Cygni for some shooty shooty. All we ever really saw were ships from the Gold Rats faction.
Now if we even look in their direction they just up and want a fight lol. Still, its getting my combat rank up Haha
