differences between the fed drop ship, assault ship and gunship?

what are the differences between them, and what are they best/worst at would you say?

i quite fancy buying a fed ship (will be some time until the corvette though).

ta :)

There are differences in hardpoint placement and internals. Due to this, the Dropship, as I understand it, is good as an armed trader where as the Assault Ship is a full-on killing machine. I'm not entirely sure about the Gunship but I believe it's tankier and slower than the others but with more firepower.

The Dropship is a mini Python, use it for everything. The Gunship is vulnerable on its own due to its lack of mobility but if you're in a wing it can be devastating. Ridiculous armour.
Fly the Assault Ship if you positively have to kill every mo'fo ship in the galaxy, right now

Gunship has worse armour than Dropship. :x

I am enjoying your new found love of the FAS Bongo..... after all these months of you singing the virtues of the FDL and Vulture, it's nice to see you enjoying the ugly looking beauty of the FAS.

I like them all. The FDL is brilliant fun but it's an expensive toy

Only if you set up the Dropship to do nothing else

FDS is cheapest 14-7 million. Best multi role, trade, shoot explore😂. Sorry I laugh at the last one because I personally think the jump range on any of the three is not that great. But in all seriousness the best multi role.

FAS is medium price range. Setup for one purpose blow stuff up comes in about 19-22 million depending on discounts etc. (Personally not that that impressed, but I have been informed it's got the best handling of the three)

FGS comes in around 32-35 million, most expensive but definitely the most impressive (in my opinion) the structural integrity of the hull and the superior amount of hard points and how they are placed makes this the super tank of the three. Same manuorvablity as the FDS but who cares when you can blast most ships into space dust! I had one for a short amount of time A graded and loved it. Only reason I sold it as I had a C-A grade Battle ready Conda which I do not need to explain why I choose that over FGS lol.

Hope this helps and open to hear other poeple opinions I hear nothing but postive praise for the FAS. But I would still go FGS

When I first got my dropship, I made the mistake of assuming that it was a dedicated fighter. I put some weapons on it, upgraded the shields, and hopped over to a RES to test it out. I promptly got my ass handed to me.

I didn't try out the other 2 because I could afford a 'conda before I had the rank, but I'd say the dropship is good for trading.

Out of the three, there's only the FDS I haven't tried at all. I like the look of the FGS, but since I'm not a dedicated pew pew player, it fell into the slow, tanky and useless bracket.

The FAS I liked... certainly no multirole and nowt nearly as good as a Python for that purpose, but then again...I already had the FDL for pew pew, so it fell into just 'flying something that did things slightly less efficiently than the Ferdie' bracket. Hated the hardpopint placement too... Fun, but superceded.

Looks wise, the FAS/FDS should have Tefal or Morphy-Richards written on the side of them. I'll need to try the FDS at some point, but having the permanent Python in the garage makes it merely a pointless addition.

Regarding all of that blurb I just wrote... the Federal ships have something for everyone getting to the Python/Anaconda stage of playing... once you have one or both of those, apart from the drop ship, they're merely toys... like the Ferdie... when you're not doing important stuff like playing the majority of the game that exists outside of a res site.

The FDS looks more useful for multirole, you can mine/trade/smuggle quite happily in it... recommended out of the three for that reason :)
