Would you like to allow for 8 or so different colored bookmarks? Then you could self/coordinate what you want to separate them into. Example

  • Green is good mining spots
  • Blue are systems I've done business with and have good rep
  • Yellow rares are here
  • Purple have good materials farming
  • Red I'm wanted there
  • Pink Found UP's here

Etc

You can edit the name of the bookmarks..

Yeap I do it for mining sites, extraction, and what maybe Engineer components, CCM Composites and other such sundries.

Great idea of more additional colors, lets see I am "Wanted" here, here, and here... and here, and down there..., oh and last week there was that one incident with her ladyship over and across the farside, that misunderstanding of the muffin mixup...

Don't judge...

the main problems with bookmarks in my eyes are:

  • limit of only ~128 bookmarks (that's insane - it makes them useless for exploring)
  • no filter option
  • no integration in the left panel, e.g. something like a favorites bookmark list to make playing less immersion breaking by having to switch into the gal-map constantly (especially for trading)
  • ...
  • add your idea with colored bookmarks to this list, I like that idea. More customization for tools is always nice

I just want to turn off bookmarks when I'm lining up things. Just show only all the systems we've found Barnacles. Ok lets see all the systems we found UP's. Ok where are all the good mining spots. Where are all the rares.

It would be sooo easy to do too. That would be a local thing not really a server thing.

Yes!

Why not always add filter- and sorting function and color-customisation to the UI ?!

That would improve the UI very much!

I voted yes because I would like some way of organizing the bookmarks.

I would be far happier if we could organize the bookmarks under folders that can be expanded/collapsed as needed (and would remember the last state you left them in during a gaming session).

Currently, I organize my bookmarks with prefixes before the name:
ABH - Bounty hunting in ALD space (20% bonus, also PP related)
BH - Bounty hunting
Discounts - bookmarks for Li's systems
E - Engineer location
Home - home port
TR - Trade route

Example: TR - CEMIESS, ABH - HIP 20227

I could really use folders as the number of "TR -" bookmarks is LONG.

- - - - - Additional Content Posted / Auto Merge - - - - -

The bm system is very young and will most probably be improved. The 1st upgrade I'd like to see is folders.

Glad to see I'm not the only one. [noob]

That would be great, I'd really like to be able to handle it all in game, no sticky note reading "red-RES, blue-ELW discovered, purple-pristine metallic, etc", I would like to put that there right next to the bookmark color designations themselves.

I was thinking the exact same thing today while on a long exploration trip. All of this is reinventing the wheel though and eventually they will make folders. All of this has happened before and it will happen again ;)

I would like a filter to leave only the bookmarked stuff, without the systems with my ships & missions & engineer bases.

I would like to be able to add things to the Bookmark title rather than have to retype the whole thing each time.

The search box in the jump route tab has the same problem that whatever is in the box is automatically selected with no way of deselecting.

Sensible people have been asking for this for a while.

Came here from another thread.

Bump.

Hopefully FDev have noticed. But if Zac or Brett or Michael could give a "Soon" or a "don't hold your breath", then we can just tell each other to "shut up it's coming or not".
