Hey Forum!!!
During a recent query one of the chaps from the Frontier Support group told me they welcomed suggestions for future patches and actively monitored these threads for new ideas. I have been playing for quite a while now and have a few suggestions that I think would help both my own gameplay style and more importantly help others as well.
My first suggestion is to do with scanning planets with the basic/advanced surface scanner or buying their data from the galaxy map.
I scan planets quite a lot and I find it really frustrating not to be easily able to tell which I have either already scanned myself or have bought full planetary data. This is less of a problem if you use the Advanced Discovery Scanner to perform an initial survey as once it appears in this way each world in the system will be named in the navigation panel as 'unexplored'. However if you use the 'Nav Beacon' to download a basic map of the system then all the planets are already correctly named and there is no at-a-glance way to tell if you have all their data or not.
What I suggest is the icon next to the planet name in the navigation panel should have three different properties; it can show the planet is not scanned, has been partially scanned with a basic surface scanner or has been fully scanned. It doesn't need to be a huge change, just something subtle that would stop a commander from going back to the same world three times that he has already scanned!
