Differentiating Targetting Reticles Made Easy

Lots and lots of weapons share the same targetting reticles. Nothing to distinguish between them except where they line up according to shot speed.

When you have weapons with all differing speeds some maybe 50-1000 metres per second difference, the targetting can get messy and you can lose which gun matches which reticle.

At least allow us to change the colours of the reticles according to hardpoint / weapon type / shot speed etc. Possibly have different styles of reticle, shapes that easily recognisable, or even just a 1 or 2 beside them on the hud.

+1

I think this would be very helpful. They could also implement slightly different shapes for the reticle with an icon next to each weapon display in the HUD to indicate which reticle matches to which weapon

I support this 100%. If I had never fought thargoids, I would never have known this was an issue, since I have always made sure that weapons that share a group have very close or matching speeds, of course AX missiles and AX multicannons together immediately show this problem. Most of the time you can tell which is which cos the missiles are slower and therefore the reticle is further from the target, but in the heat of battle and when flying in a non-intuitive orientation (such as up and backwards, while banking and pitching), it's very easy to lose a lot of dps and against a thargoid that is a REAL problem.

It would be nice if the reticles werent obnoxiously large and thick as well. Sometime's I'm trying to aim a long range rail and can't even see the ship with the other 6 hardpoints of my corvette going crazy all around it.

If you have a basic understanding of your own loadout, this should only ever be an issue when using fixed weapons with drastically different shot speeds - in which case I kinda feel I should be intelligently working my fire groups.

That said I wouldn't object to such a feature. Perhaps when we get the ability to colour HUDs properly...
