Difficulty of AX restoration missions

Hi,

currently I am trying AX restoration missions and restoring power at HIP 21112 - Peralta's Resolve.
There is always 1 Banshee present as well as multiple Revenants. They are all patroling the entrance to the CMD / PWR buildling, it's the miliary map 2 layout

I have tried sneaking to the entrance, one-shotted several Revenants with my G5 Executioner before that. I get killed every time when trying to enter the builing.
When I start with engaging the Banshee and to shoot him in the goid soft tissues on the underside, ALL the Revenants hurry to help the Banshee and kill me.
I even engaged the Banshee from my Krait Mk2 with 3x Large Enhanced AX Missile Racks, but it does not explode.
How do you manage to complete AX restore missions with this special settlement layout ? HIP 21112 - Wilkins's Obligation is much easier, as there is no Banshee present.

Edit: a shield projector does not yield enough defence to get entrance to the building . Forgot to mention that I have a fully upgraded G5 Maverick suit 🧐

That was cool - took a couple of tries as I haven't done any AX Restores for months. I did it by:

1) Drop off 2km out, walk in towards the back of the PWR building
2) Avoid the Banshee by hiding behind rocks, then buildings. Snipe any Revenants that get too close
3) Snipe more Revenants from the top of the PWR building because there seemed a lot, then got bored with that
4) Dropped down in front of the door while the Banshee was behind the building and hoped the Revenants were not looking - they weren't
5) Restored power, looked out of the windows and watched the Banshee rain hell on the building. Waited for it all to calm down
5a) Luckily the extra goal on the mission was in the same building - phew!
6) Scooted out, jetpack straight on top of the building and away behind the PWR building while everything was looking the other way
7) Walked out 3km (because I have forgotten how far I needed to go :) ) and recalled the ship.

Nice mission, was after doing some AX Restore as I haven't seen it with the Banshees - quite tense 😬

Taking out the banshee (and the revenants by accident, probably) from the air with AX missiles is probably the best approach. 3 might not be enough, because it does have point defense, but it should get them eventually (or just take more missiles). Remember to target the ground UNDER them, not the banshees themselves. The banshee doesn't respawn, so once it's out of the way, you should be able to proceed like normal. Not sporting, but it works.

Here's a less-then-perfect execution. It's a heavily shielded cutter and has 6 missile launchers, so there's a lot more room for error, but there's also plenty of error here, so it should be doable in a Krait Mk II.

In my tries they were ALWAYS looking 😂, also the Banshee was ALWAYS in front of the building, never behind it. Do you think there patrol routes can differ from instance to instance 🧐?
 
Maybe it detected me and was trying to get to me? It was in front of the buildings when I was approaching - it only tried to sneak up behind me when I was on top of the building 🤷‍♀️ You'd need someone who does these more

But quite on the difficult side with a Banshee present, isn’t it? The normal ones with just Revenants are easy in comparison. Especially with that layout, where you don’t have a separate, more hidden entrance to the power building…

Edit: i actually rage quitted my game session for this evening after the fourth try with failure 😂something I had never done before,,🤗

Do you think there patrol routes can differ from instance to instance
If they don’t, you need a lot of patience in order to see them go to a location where you can safely enter the command building.

I did one mission on that layout solo once witbout killing anything, allowing me to observe that, occasionally, the Banshee diverts from its primary patrol pattern to stray pretty far from the settlement in one or the other direction. Useful moments to scurry from one side of the place to the habs, when the game of course decided to place my secondary objective there. Don’t intend to repeat that experience.

The Scout drop of Revenants when there is none spawned really needs to delay its check by another minute, too, because you’ve got to be far more careful approaching with a Banshee present, yet the initial Revenant spawn doesn’t occur until you get to within 500m of the place, and whenever a Banshee is present to delay the crossing of that trigger threshold, the Scout dropping in the reinforcements shows up.

Yet that initial batch of Revenants will spawn anyway. And then you have 9-11 Revenants to deal with instead of 4-6 in your tiny military settlement for additional fun and scorch marks on your suit if you get spotted. I’d follow the recommendation to pull the Banshee away separately and dispose of it - Revs won’t follow you as far as it will.

Exactly that is what happened in all of my approaches. And then the patrol route in front of the building is just like the main street in „alien city“ 🤪

HIP 21112 - Peralta's Resolve. Yeah, that very tensing layout - have been there during this weekend with my alt (G3 Maverick/backpack+NV + G5 Executioner/no mods), passed smoothly (always the same approach - get to the hiding place on the roof, take a pair of most annoying revenants from the central yard, wait for banshee to go in one of the opposite corners, pray and sneak fast to the entrance, cut/charge/enter.... May be I'm lucky but so far this does work smoothly

Have you tried kiting the banshee away with a scorpion, hopping out and shooting it in the goidnads, then dealing with the revenants? From my experience on spire sites, 1 (or even 3) banshees aren't too much of a problem on foot (with a G5 executioner), it's the revenants that get you (which are too difficult for me to hit with an executioner).

If you have a scorpion, that also means you can swap suits and weapons. So long as it doesn't get blown up.

Taking out banshees from the air will just drink ammo, in my experience.

AFAIK the issue with the Scorpion interacting with scouts hasn't been fixed (I don't remember seeing it in any patch notes) so I stick with the Scarab.
Attracting the attention of the Banshee in that doesn't increase longevity in my experience.
 
This is a lot of fun. Got pwnd the first attempt.
The Banshee really messed up any gameplan you had from the Good Ol' Days when there were only Revenants.

The Banshee has four searchlights; the front two are more like headlights. The rear two are similar-ish to the Revenants.
The Banshee seems to trigger when your ship's 7km away, if not further.
It'll be tricky figuring out a gameplan that'll allow you to do these missions quick!

I've tested the Scorpion with an alt months ago and redid that test on the 25th just a few days ago.
It used to be visible on sensors at 1½km distance. In the game today that is no longer the case.
In fact, both the Scorpion and Scarab don't show up at all on sensors.
Not even when they're firing at you!

Scouts at Peralta left me alone just fine.
The Scorpion's no longer a liability.
 
Found a „nice“ military map 2 layout doing ax restoration missions issued from Holvandalla: Pereira Command Garrison in Kaurukat. Near to the main star (<100 ls approach), in the daylight currently. And with a nice planet hovering the site, making for a very nice view. Farmed a few Weapon test Data rewards in that system 🤗

Ps: of course with a Banshee present 🥳
 
If you lurk around outside the side wall, you can stay out of sight of the banshee and snipe the revenants through the openings one-by-one (with any of the plasma weapons). Then run to the entrance door and get inside (ignore the banshee, it won't do much damage if it spots you) and it's pretty simple from there once you've got access to infinite power and ammo.
 
I always kill the Banshee from above now, with 3x Large, 2x Medium Enhanced AX Missile Racks 🤗. After that I quickly land, dismiss my ship and snipe all the Revenants with my Executioner.
