Dinosaur colors?

Hey everyone. I'm new to this forum, but I've been following on the sidelines for a while...

I have a question I can't seem to figure out. Is it possible to fully customize the colors of your dinosaurs?

I believe we've only seen what appear to be two skins on some of the dinosaurs. Are the coloration of the animals pre-made or can we do what we want? It's not a big deal if we can't, I'm just curious. [yesnod]

From the information we have so far it seems like there will be multiple skins for your dinosaurs through research and by changing the gnome.
I don't think we will be able to select the colors ourselves.

Probably not. I just hope we get a pretty good variety though... I would love a huge brachiosaurus with some nice coloring instead of the normal grey.

I would love to know one thing about using the different skins for the dinosaurs. Will there´re be a preview on how the skin looks like before you breed the dinosaur or is it choose a "name" and see if you like the skin ??

Based on what we can see in the IGN gameplay video

At roughly, you see the player looking at the gene modification for the Struthi. In that you see a image of the struthi in the bottom left of the screen while the cosmetics gene modification is open. I assume that means you will be able to see some portion of the color, but I can't tell for certain.

I would actually like to know that too... I think the different colorways and appearances of the dinosaurs haven't really been talked about yet. Not much anyway.

The change of colours is probably to change the motes and stripes of the dinosaurs.

There is 12 known different skins that are available to use on dinosaurs, most are based in terrain like jungle, desert, etc. Each dinosaur has a ones they can and can't use so none have access to all 12.

I believe we can change the colors through gene manipulation. Hopefully we can change the patterning as well. If not then the patterns will stay the same but the colors will not.

If you have played destiny 1 or 2 you will understand what I mean more. I think every Dino will have a set pattern, like the Metricanthosaurus's tiger stripes along its back. But I think each "customization" gene will use a different color shader to the same pre set pattern. So If you watch its species profile you will see what I mean. It begins with a green stripe but ends with an orange stripe with darker brown skill all around, but still the same pattern. Thats just my thoughts tho[noob]

While I believe that each species will have at least 2-3 skin choices. I would personally hope that they would each have about 5-6 different skins.

Case in point - Velociraptor, will hopefully have at least 4 skins (Blue, Charlie, Delta, Echo from JW). But I think it would be cool if we see some skins from the original JP series as well.

It's okay to hope ... just don't hold your breath.

I personally be happy if we get 3-4 T.rex skins. I imagine colors like brown, greenish, black/dark gray, and maybe reddish brown. Maybe some cool patterns like tiger stripes or leopard spots.
