I brought this up as an idea on here during the 1st JWE. Now given the fact that during the first JWE release we saw dinosaur behavior and animation updates post release such as adding in the resting and sleeping behavior and herding, along with new fight animations between the raptors and the T-Rex in RTJPdlc. I think this is a good time to bring this topic up right before JWE2's release in 11 days! So last time with the limited number of animations I asked for a Moves Pack. Basically adding in new animations that could be played out randomly by a few specific dinosaurs already in the game to give us more variety. The sequel seems to have already addressed this issue with more dynamic animations and animations for more behaviors that are different based on the species. BRAVO Frontier! That said, if your thinking about different DLC ideas to tackle over the next couple of years I think a Dino Animations Pack is one way to go.
When they put out Dino Packs giving us 3 or 4 new dinosaurs belonging to a type of era or diet preference.... They are already making new animations for the new dinosaurs. So we're talking: 1. eating 2. drinking 3. socializing 4. dominance displays. 5. Fighting 6. Hunting Kill animations for goats and prey 7. Sleeping 8. Feeding animations for feeders 9. Climbing now for smaller theropods 10. Guest Kills So already a sizeable list to introduce a new dinosaur with unique animations.
Instead of doing all dinosaur packs and story dlcs. How about a pack or two of varied animation behaviors for a few specific favorite species that can be cycled through randomly? The dinosaur models will already be in the game so no starting from absolute scratch with a whole new model. It might be just as difficult I dont know. But if you're going to create new animations for new dinosaurs, why not some new animations for current dinosaurs? It would be nice to add another 2 guest kill animations for example for a Rex or Spino so it's not the same kill every time. A few new socializing animations for different species. Some unique kill animations if certain species fight each other. I think this would be a good addition to this game down the road 6 months to a year from now. Even with JWE1 being very basic especially on launch I still played the game for a whole year straight and the better part of a second year as well. I don't see me doing anything different I'll probably be having fun with this game for a long time as well. So a Moves Pack of new Animations for the current roster just seems like a good idea to consider working on.
If they went all out on movie like animations one example of something I'd like to see would be the manner in which the Rex broke out in JP. When the power goes out he drapes his arm over one of the cables to test the power. What if we could get an animation where the Rex does this in game and checks the power if he's in a cable electric fence? Then bites or headbutts the cables to give us the cables snapping away one by one? That'd be really cool. That's an exaggerated example if they went all out on a new animations dlc. But just new social behaviors would be great. Frontier I hope you consider doing something like that. Either way im super excited and cant wait for JWE2!
