Dinosaur Stats List and Dinosaur Enclosure Size Guide

Good info for sure, something to keep in mind for the enclosure sizes is that you have to combine the grassland and forest meters squared to get what the overall exhibit size needs to be. The numbers listed are also bare minimum to keep the dinos happy.

Actually I think those figures on cage sizes are the minimums for each species, but you can have up to max social on said species - before you need to increase the cage size.

Yep, did some testing and that's exactly right. Those are minimum cage sizes for the animals, but so long as you stay within the social and population requirements you'll be fine.

I made the absolute minimum pen size for stegosaurus and put a full herd of 9 and they all stayed happy.

Is there any way to see how many square meters your enclosure has and how much of it is covered in trees/grassland?
I mean the numbers are nice and all, but I can't seem to really work with them.

Am also intrigued to know where you’re seeing these square metres of current grassland/forest, that would be extremely useful. This guide has highlighted some of the issues I’ve had trying to make a Ceratopsian corner of my park: 1 of each minimum population of the 6 Ceratopsians is too much population for both the Chasmosaurus & the Pentaceratops. Add 1 above social minimum to avoid stress when one dies and it’s too much population for every species. It does look like I could house 1 above min for Triceratops, Torosaurus, Styracosaurus, and Sinoceratops together and then house Chasmosaurus and Pentaceratops together in a “Ceratopsian Party Poopers” exhibit adjoining and they’d be alright? Gotta try this.

Be awesome if the devs added a little tool we could use in game to find out the actual space size of the enclosure that was built and the percentage of plains and forests that the enclosure has in m2 Be a lot easier planning enclosures for dino's instead of guessing. We'd also be able to judge how much fencing we'd need in order to not waste space on the cramped sizes of the islands we have to deal with.

I don't know whether or not this is the only thread about this, but it needs to be sticked.

EDIT: Damn! It doesn't work for Brachiosaurus...

How can each little fence section = 10m? If a 10x10 = 10,000sq meters, than ceratosaurus should fit in one, as the stats shown on screen = 8951 grass and 553 forest for a total of 9504 sq meters.

Actually, the maximum length of a stretch of fence or wall is roughly 50m. Making a square cube is roughly 2500 square meters.

You can easily try it out using Brachiosaurus; build a 5 x 2 x 2500 square meter block enclosure, fill 5 blocks with trees and the other 5 with just land, then remove the fence/wall between blocks and release a Brachiosaurus into it. Brachiosaurus needs 12600 sq m forest and 12600 sq m grassland, your Brachiosaurus will ALMOST reach it's comfort threshold because your area will be around 12500 sq m forest and 12500 sq m grassland.

Other interesting observations:
1. The meter (for area at least) on any dinosaur's stat page, is not up to scale. The 50% mark is roughly 10000 sq m, while the 100% mark is roughly 37500 sq m.
2. Wetlands DO NOT affect your grassland or forest area.
3. Hatcheries and feeders use up a little space, just a little.
