Dinosaurs Lacking Spacial Awareness

I noticed that a lot of the dinosaurs have a tendency to walk through each other and it kind of takes away from the immersion.
Could something be done about this?

I considered posting this as a bug but, I wasn't too sure.

It surely isn't a bug and I wonder how they messed this up so bad. In every game there can be some clipping glitches, but those are small things like hairs, spikes or hands that just go through another body. Even in this game they made it that tails will bow if pressed against a fence for example. Yet dinosaurs walk straight up through another one. It is ok if a tail will stick through a tree or even another dinosaur but this is just awful. I hope they'll take their time, now that the game is rushed anyway. This needs a heavy bug fix patch, a ton more animations, attractions, better AI and behaviour and toilets.
After 30 hours the immersion is just out. My fun with this game is sadly already gone.

Submit as a bug report. That's the only way FDev will for sure see this. They may not see it here, in the general forum.

I saw a T. Rex walk through a viewing platform and the Hammond creation lab next to it, fortunately it came out on the right side of the fence.

From what I understand clipping is hard to fix. I have seen this happen a few times. It bothered me but I got used to it. I believe they will probably patch it. The Jeeps bump into the Dinosaurs so the same thing should be possible there. I ma guessing they wanted to get it released in time for the movie hype. Anyway it's not a game breaking bug so it probably didn't take top priority. The goal would be to get a functioning playable game out for release and they did accomplish that.

That is true but, originally, I swore the game was going to be released the same day as the film. Granted (Alan Granted), there probably wasn't much else that could have been done with an extra week or two. I just hope that more is added to the game in the future on top of additional polishing.

So far, the game's still pretty fun if you can look passed all the little nit-picks :)

The clipping does need to be addressed though. It may not be game breaking but that shouldn't mean this should have a fairly high priority.

I had a dinosaur come out of a creation lab and straight up walk through the Diplodocus tail as if it doesn't even exist in game. Didn't even act as though the diplodocus was there either, it only changed it's walking path when it hit whatever collision hitbox is around the dinosaurs. The AI does need to pathfind ahead of time and should take into account the total length of the dinosaurs as well

I can understand it's not a simple fix and it may even create other problems with dinosaurs of certain sizes but it definitely needs something done to at least limit it

The only dinos I've seen this happen with in 100 hours of gameplay were a pair of diplodocuses, but I've seen it happen with this species more than once. Forgot to report it.

I noticed this too, while strangely when the game was released I didn't see this behavior at all and I remember being very pleased how well this was done.
Somehow this behavior has changed for some reason and I can only speculate if it was a glitch I didn't notice this in the beginning, or that the launched stability patch of a few days ago changed something?

Whatever the reason, it should be fixed because it breaks the immersion enormously [smile]

Greets,

Jan
