Disabeling an Empire Capital Ship in less than 4 minutes

That is the reason why the Empire is loosing the Battle. They should hire Elite Anacondas and throw away this sitting duck Targets.

It also generates good money. I do 4 or 5 such mission and than return to base which gives me 250k credits in about 30 min.
Loosing the A kitted sidewinder cost me about 37k. But the risk is marginal in PvE. In PvP it is a different story of course.

Or better yet they should return fire. Sitting that close to an enemy cap ship should be instant death to a small ship.
Bad AI.

Yes it should. I agree. It should even be very dangerous to get close to that thing with a fully A kitted Cobra or Viper.

One more thing I forgot to mention and puzzles me a lot is:
I did that mission with my A kitted Cobra (1.5 mil shild) too in the past and I lost it when I accidently touched that capital ship. And I had full shild. I get instant blown up if I touch other ships larger ships too. That was a main reason for me to not go there with the Cobra. The risk of touchign a ship is much too high in that crowed space and the insurance is 400k

With this sidewinder I touched that ship several times now and even other ships and it never even got a scratch from that.
Something is very very messed up with the Cobra collision detection with the top Shild or they give the sidewinder an extremly genreous noob collision bonus.

Normally they do. I am curious whether there is a risk perception based on the internal ship score that Frontier need to adjust. Perhaps he is seen as low risk.

Can you destroy a capital ship, or do they always run? Would be nice to see a grand explosion that causes shield/hull damage to any nearby ships. So far I've only seen retreat, which can kill the mood.

Otherwise, nice tutorial. I've always found cap ships in games to be relatively easy to take down compared to dogfighting fighters, so I'm not surprised. I also noticed the firepower from a cap ship is not all that strong. I've seen NPC Cobras do much of the same thing you do (except they dumbfire on the hull instead). The cap ship whales on them with everything and they often last quite a long time. All for show I guess :)

Sometimes the 3 laser infact do. But with 1 claff they are distracted at once.
And yes it looks a bit like that the sidewinder is seen as low risk. I had much more trouble to stay unaffected in close range of that ship with the cobra. The Empire ships more often interrupted me then.
I wonder a bit why that capital ship doesnt have laser turrents and masscanons like the Elite Anaconda. That would be deadly.

As far as I know one tried and brought it down to 0% and simple nothing happend.
And the power plant and FSD is inside the ship and you can't rich to it with the guns.

Cap ship is probably supposed to rely on their wings of fighters as support, the CAP ship staff (or AI, it is 3300 after all) would have instantly seen and targeted the sidewinder that is taking out all its armaments. They need to for sure tweak the AI for these guys and help with wing management of supporting ships. It is just a game after all, but the NPCs seem like they could be a bit smarter. All that being said, even though the game was released, it still is very much not finished and is still very Beta feeling, even though they are now calling it a release version. Not a complaint by me, I love the game, just an observation.

This. Cobra full shield full hull insta death on collision at sweet spot/half speed. Thought it was because of the Cobra's mass.
