Disappearing Cargo Cannisters

So I'm running some stolen goods I intercepted (rare artwork etc) to an Anarchy system to sell on the black market and the feds jump me for a random scan. I quickly jettison the lot into space and look as innocent as I can while I count down the seconds. I come up clean and start to collect the loot after the fuzz jumps away and am halfway through scooping when the spare cans just spawn away?? Nowhere to be seen again! I'm wondering what happened? Kind of cruel justice for my quick thinking. I scraped together about 20K before losing the rest but am thinking this shouldn't really happen.

One other thing while I was trying to locate my stored Sidey I could't find the option on the galaxy map anymore to search for my ships. I had to dock and go to the shipyard to find out where I left it. I thought this was a previous feature, has it been removed?

I also think we really need a ship delivery service in this game but realise not everyone may think this is a good idea.

Their hull slowly decays over time until they explode.

I think it's something like 5 minutes? Could be a little longer to be honest, but it's manageable.

Not entirely sure, but I think they suffer environmental damage. I've discovered canisters at a USS near a sun, and their hull integrity dropped to zero as I was watching.

If you target a cannister somewhere in your HUD you can see a counter counting down, it says the cannisters are degrading or somesuch.
