Disappearing Cargo

This happened in Horagalles and LTT 7903 on 2 different stations. I accept a delivery mission and get shown the page where I can add the items to my ship. So I do that, add the items to my Type 7. Next thing you know there are zero items in my inventory and zero from the mission giver, so I can't re-buy the disappearing cargo. What should I do?

Edit: The first time this happened, in Horagalles, I hauled tail to the destination thinking my cargo hold was full. :)

b4 departing any station check the right hand ship ui panel cargo hold and ensure correct cargo amount is on the ship
there is a server bug if you have open delivery missions during weekly server maintenance so don't have any outstanding delivery missions whilst servers are down try to tie them off before hand
also check which keys are bound to jetterson cargo as when i was a noob(not saying you are of course I was jettersoning occasionally without realizing by occasionally mistyping after my bind was reset somehow
otherwise I suggest you store and refit your cargo racks so the current config server data is overwritten new

Sometimes inventory panel is slow to update.. Could that be it for you? Or (I think) some military mission cargoes don't show up as cargo items??

Going back to by first suggeston, One situation springs to mind... It was precipitated by an incident a few months ago, I had an embarrassing episode where I'd done a courier mission in my Vulture and (as doing the run home 'empty' makes no profit, and I do have a small cargo rack in it). I stocked up in a commodity that would turn a tidy profit back at base and flew home. Got home tired, restock etc... Bed...

Next day I went bounty hunting - dropped into the res zone, Prior to getting stuck in, was just tinkering in one of the UIs when I was unexpectedly attacked by multiple (three?/Four?) pirates. By the time I got myself together and into the fight, it was too late... It turns out in my tiredness the previous evening, I'd forgotten to sell the cargo that I'd bougt back...

So now if go bounty hunting, I check the hold as I leave the station, just to make sure that I've not painted a big unnecessary target on my hull....

Cue last week. I left the station to go bounty hunting. Checked the hold - Cargo - oh *!!! , request docking, land, check hold - nothing. Thought it through, and yes, I'd sold the cargo, but the inventory panel had just been slow updating. I'd just re-docked for no reason!

(Corrected struck out comment above - the situation I was thinking about, transfers military cargo to you automatically -you don't do it yourself. - and hence does not fit your situation . I was getting confused)

Normally this is people just thinking they added the cargo, but not actually having done it. Always worth a check on the inventory before taking off as it's easy to do.

As the OP posted hours before the weekly restart it seems unlikely to have been the cause in this case, but who knows 🤷‍♀️

Thanks for the help and explanations! I am rather new. I fired up the game today (after a PC reboot) and got some screenshots of a new mission since my description of last night's problem may not be the best.

I made sure there were no other missions or cargo, then accepted a delivery job for 30 units of hydrogen. Here's what it looks like right after collecting the hydrogen. FWIW I could scale the number on the COLLECT ITEMS button from zero to 30, and the Items In Depot slider moved from 30 down to zero as expected. But when I clicked the COLLECT ITEMS button, that 30 on it reverted to zero.

If I fly to the destination I have nothing to sell, even though the right panel clearly shows the hydrogen in my hold. I got rid of my cargo holds in case they were bugged out, then bought new ones before accepting this mission. No dice.

Any advice? I haven't tried prayer and fasting yet, but that's not too far down the list. :)

You do not SELL the mission cargo, you deliver it to the mission.
At the destination station, go to the mission board in Station Services, you will see your mission there. Delivery is a very similar mechanism to picking up the items.

screen shot the mission board where your suppose to deliver said cargo(hunziker)
one of the missions should have a world or sphere marker(like in ship cargo screenie above) where you hand in the cargo (do no got to where you buy or sell as this is a mission cargo)
if there is no place whatsoever to hand it in at the destination's misson board you are bugged and need to create a support ticket
or do the bellow
(avoid this bug completely by having no delivery missions outstanding during weekly server shutdown which can cause mission cargos to become undeliverable)
if you cant be bothered for support abandon mission sell or dump now illegal cargo in a blackmarket and pay any fines off for cargo theft obviously you will loose some rep+ inf over this potential weekly server maintenance bug

Thanks for the help! If I go thru the left panel, Transactions, Open Galaxy Map tab, there is a sphere with lat. and long. lines (mission icon) on the destination:

I just went to the destination and it allowed me to sell the items!
Problem solved, maybe turning the game off and on again helped. :)
