Disappointed and quite frankly, bored

Packed up my HOTAS last night and going to leave ED alone for a while.

I liken ED to Theo Walcott. You keep hearing about potential, yet the guy has been at Arsenal for ten years and hasn't really kicked on and fulfilled that potential since joining them.

There's so many things that need love or fixing in the game, yet shiny new stuff takes precedence. Well that shiny new stuff is just papering over the cracks.

You have a HOTAS and you are packing it up because you have got fed up with ED ? Go get a cheap copy of FSX and learn to fly a glider, a 747, a DC3, a Seaplane etc, etc. get Rise of Flight for free and feel what it was like flying a WWI fighter. For the cost of a cup of coffee get a copy of IL2 '46 and have all of the air combat in WW2 (and beyond) that any PC today can run balls out, get a copy of Flaming Cliffs 2 and try out F15's against SU27's.... the list goes on


Then come back and see how ED has moved on.

I don't think you've read up about 2.1, it is a big patch because it isn't just new stuff, it is also a ton of fixes, so yeah, maybe you don't have confidence in it will actually fix it? which is fine.
But it is also fine to lay down the game for a bit and return when you think it will be better, which if you have gotten bored is what I would recommend.

This streamer is intellectually unsound in his reasoning.
Comparing low gfx fidelity of the early 80s games (inducing imagination to enhance gameplay) to sub-standard game mechanics in ED (hardly any mechanically difference between gold trading or slave smuggling) forcing players to imaginate their own reasons w/o any game mechanics supporting these reasons/decisions, is just argueing 30 yeasrs behind the times.

You missed his entirely point of the video...flew right over your head... or didn't watch it completely, I could go as far as wonder that you are part of those he mentioned.
He is very intellectually sounds, because he's explaining what playing a game was and is meant to be, and is, and how many younger gamers now a days view games, as he says very sterile, is it so bad to admit that you might be wrong that you need to start out with attacking him? because from your reaction it seems like he is spot on correct?
