I really enjoyed the first game with linear missions, the well designed interface and the gameplay. Now I got the second game this week and Im disappointed. The missions are not intiutive sometimes especially california, the story is pathetically short, the interface is sometimes outright stupid and the maps are still WAY TOO SMALL. Overall the game feels like a copy of the first game with more micro management. Too bad.
Before I even entered a map I had to facepalm when I left the species viewer. When I left it asked me if I really wanted to exit to the main menu because "you will lose any unsaved changes". What changes? Its a viewer. Its not in any way affecting my game.
What really bugs me, as a person with high standards when it comes to intuitive game interfaces, is the way some buttons are placed. For example I was driving a car and all things I need to push are explained in the lower left EXCEPT how to switch equipment. Thats in the upper left in a tiny box next to the equipment. Who expects that?! I dont know how long I searched to find it but it really shouldnt be up there. I didnt think about checking keybinds because I was so frustrated about this.
The

in the main menu is triggering my OCD beyond measure!
Is this game still in alpha or beta phase? I cant believe they released it like this. Many of the problems from the old game were literally copied into this game it seems. But I still tried. I finished the story, the challenges and built a nice park in sandbox mode but it feels like I paid 36 bucks just to do the same as I did in the first game. Now Im kinda bored already. I hope there will be big changes coming to make this game last for more than a few days.

- Navigating large menus is straining the eyes because its hard to tell where the scroll bar is. Its so thin it would make a single hair look large. Im already wearing glasses but this is just unhealthy.
- Maps outside the story are pretty much identical to the first game.
- The DLCs dont seem to offer any new story like the DLCs from the first game. Just skins and dinos.
- The rest button in the scientist tab is under the bio box which is a passive box and then another active button is ontop of that. The active elements should always be seperate from passive interface objects and stand out abit. I only found it by accident.
- Dinosaurs swallow phones deep in the woods and need medical attention? They eat entire prey with their bones but a single swallowed phone is a problem? And this "problem" requires manual intervention?!
- During california mission my asset rating box disappeared. I always had to manually check in the menu for me mission goal.
- Buildings could have one meter of path so we can directly connect them to the existing path instead of always manually adding this one centimeter of path for the building to work.
- There is still no way for a path to go through a gate. This feature along would give us so many new possibilities to build.
- When refuelling a building the window cant be dismissed with right click like almost any other window.
- We cant switch from one building to another. We have to deselect one and then move on to the next.
- Some buildings snap to paths, others dont for no apparent reason.
- Goats outrun the indoraptor! Mine almost starved and I had to place food dispensers to save him!
- The indominus lost the black skin. Im sure it will be added in a future skin DLC.
- When in fence mode we cant select the theme.
