Disappointed with no offline mode...now I actually understand why online is more....

...interesting.

Yes the other thread moaning about the low latency offline post I just made appears invalid now if I play online, but no, it's still got a valid point as David "claims" he was able to play ED via a tethered phone connection.

Anyway, however, despite being disappointed with the offline mode being scrapped I didn't head for a refund despite backing in the Kickstarter campaign, I wanted to see how Solo mode would work. It's good and useful for avoiding griefers (the people that purposely ram at starports etc.). But the market fluctuations are what really work well with it (although there could be an argument that you could recreate this with AI but I guess it wouldn't feel the same). I made my first 1million last night and I'd been trading in silver for the most part, making 700c per ton (I assume one unit of anything is a ton). That's probably not much profit per ton to some people but I was carrying 44 tons each time and considering I hadn't bothered doing much looking around it was good enough for me. Watching the market move slightly as I played.

I log on this morning and unfortunately the price of silver has gone up where I was getting it :( now the profit is down to about 500c per ton. I'm assuming this is all due to player trades and it does make it more interesting. I'm now having to source profit from another product elsewhere. Wish me luck (As I've missed Boxing day, hopefully there's not much of a rush for the other products :) )

First thing I look at when docking at a possible trade port is the traffic report. I operate on the periphery where I'm usually the only one trading at a place.
