Disaster contingency initiative Starseed

to protect the species from mass lawlessness, pandemic or military conquest, stations without jump capability should be outfitted with such modules. while such eventualities may seem distant at the moment, in the future a mass disaster could devastate populated space. in such an eventuality, stations should jump in any any every direction and scatter humanity amongst the stars.

losing the station network would be a massive blow to the progress of humanity, so they must be saved in the event of a galactic war or other mass conflict.

Interesting idea. Right now, I think Jaques Station is the only station with a jump drive. It would lose its uniqueness, but that seems like a small price to pay, for the survival of the human race.

Ocellus stations are supposed to be jump-capable, as in the recent example of the Oracle moving out to the Pleiades. I'm not sure how often they can jump and it might take a while to gather the fuel needed, depending upon how far they need to go - Jaques needed a CG to get the fuel for his attempt to reach Beagle Point. Retrofitting Coriolis stations, which might be centuries old, and large Orbis stations with 8km habitation rings with hyperdrives is not something that would be straightforward, even if it were possible - it would probably be cheaper and quicker just to build more Ocellus stations or Megaships. With new bases being built in other regions of the galaxy, it might also be more viable to build up the infrastructure at those sites than to transport it from the bubble.
.
We still need to find out where the Thargoids are from and in what regions of the galaxy they are active. It would not do for us to find ourselves in a conflict that is going badly only to flee to somewhere closer to their borders!

INRA will be running distractions for us. likely merope is a decoy and UAs are actually alliance technology

INRA (or rather the group who is essentially what the Dark Wheel faction says they are but actually aren't) wants the bulk of humanity to be right in the middle of the war. That's their purpose. They're there to be the distraction for the important parts of humanity to escape unharmed.

So i wouldn't expect anything to be done for most of humanity. Those not pulling the strings have a purpose and that's to keep the thargoids busy for as long as they can survive while the puppeteers save humanity by saving themselves and whoever they choose to save.

well yes, but we can jump away before they do, even. some of the stations are jump capable already apparently.
