Disaster due to timing in PP

... It's not so much the undermining that is frustrating, is that our enemies were within, not willing to engage us properly, but cowardly buying their way into ranks and using that influence to protect their own petty ambitions ...

So what? That's the point of opposition. Protect your interests any way possible, without combat if possible. Pretty cool. They don't have to engage you, who says you have to? Still hate PPP though ... ;)

All factions seem to be plagued with trolls.

I wonder who's idea was to make military matters a democracy.

It would have been better if Frontier played a game of Risk internally and have each faction have a developer or two calling the shots as a general, designating the targets instead of this easily abusable system.

This is why contributions towards the community goals should only be allowed to be accomplished in open play.

Benefiting from bonuses from PP powers in solo mode is fine imo, but being able to alter the PP landscape for everyone else without being able to be opposed is bad gameplay mechanics.

In order to influence the next expansion target a group need to carry out missions that are beneficial to the power.
:
Am I right in thinking that once an expansion target is selected, more missions are needed to make the expansion successful.

:

So the "underminers" would have to do a load of work benefiting an enemy power in order to guide the power to attempting to expand into a "poison pill" system, and then need to do even more work in order to get the expansion to "take" in order to cause harm to the enemy power.
:
In the mean time true supporters only need to ignore expansions into "poising pill" systems and concentrate on their goals, leaving he "underminers" to work away on their behalf.
:
It sounds a bit like sending an industrial spy undercover at a rival firm, and having them do brilliant work, boosting the rivals profits and market share, so you can steal the petty cash box.
:
Have I missed something?

From an IT security perspective, any system can be compromised; especially from within.

False declarations of support and internal sabotage are probably something the FDevs didn't foresee.

The intention here is to promote a system which has low or, in the case of Archon, negative profit.

It's not good for the power.

then the counter is in the game, in the pledge system for votes on systems, in the work other members do with systems that are of value to the power when preparing, one would hope that there would be more people pledting to a power to do positives for the power than those trying to undermine....

It is obviously a lot easier to sabotage a smaller power.

In a huge group, a smaller group of saboteurs will be drowned out by the majority.

If true that the so called Mercs are sabotaging the small sole pirate power for the purposes of promoting their own chances of becoming a power?

Well Michael Brookes is supposedly with Archon.

I hope this ensures the "mercs" never ever will become a power.

Pfft.

One little patch and FD introduced the vile, game killing mechanic of Crossteaming into the game.

Powerplay is pointless with crossteaming ruining it. What a major disappointment.#

And wow guys cut out the real life hate speech in this thread.
