Discard or Sell data?

"Unable to receive data storage full"

I don't want the data! I just want rid of it to stop the above message being plastered all over the middle of the screen while hunting in a RES.

I've Google and Forum searched and all that comes up is the option to discard is now gone.

Any suggestions or help much appreciated

Temporary fix:
Visit an encoded materials trader in a high tech high population station like Zenbei orbital in Vaka. It's under Contacts.
Look through what you have stored. Most likely, it's a low tier material that is filled up.
Trade it away for a high tier material, and empty out that bank.
You can empty out any nearly full bank for higher tier stuff at the same time.

If you have no interest in collecting any of this ever, you can get rid of high tier materials by cross trading across rows. 6:1 ratio.

It is profoundly flawed and poor game feature though is it?

So I've found a broker and I'm currently dumping stuff I don't want for lower quantities of different stuff that I don't want either. Potentially I could eventually fill up with higher grade stuff that I can never get rid of!

A 'discard' or 'sell all' function would be good. Or at lease the ability to turn off the on screen message!

The fundamental problem is the same: it's not fully thought through.
But that's OK. They'll get to it one day.

It's possible to set collector limpets to "ignore" materials, so the code is already written.
