Discord Server (Not Official)

Hey, guys a few days ago i asked if anyone would be interested in a discord server. I got some responses in both PM and in the thread and the answer was almost 100% yes. So... I have created the server. Please keep in mind, this is for everyone Pc and Xbox players. The rules there are the same they are here Except no swear filter(That doesn't mean cussing sprees). I hope to see everyone there!

Let me know if you have any suggestions or Problems!
If you are interested in Moderating and you happen to be GMT let me know I can't be around 24/7 (Existing mods are trusted by F-Dev here and will be automatically moderated when (and if) they join.
Invite to the server: https://discord.gg/0nu05bMahjQvE1TO

It's not a forum, it's a live chat room, much like the one I set up a few weeks ago on a different App (not on Discord). I joined too

It's a live chat plus the likes thereof with TeamSpeak/Vent/Mumble combined into one. It's a really nice platform.

I just wish we could host a server ourselves rather rely on 3rd party hosts. :p

I personally would not go as far as to say it's a really nice platform, at least not yet, it's great for clans.. But if it gains more traction than the chat room I set up I'll see if the 40+ members in mine are interested in merging over, kinda silly to keep 2 chats made for the same reasons.

The basis for Discord is there, and i can see where they might be going with it. I do understand what you mean however, as there's some items lacking or features that are wonky.

The voice quality is Ok, but it's quite a raspy sound and there appears to be a fair bit of compression on voice data.

I agree, but I like where they are headed. I enjoy the UI more then the other chat clients out there. The voice quality will improve over time I feel.

Personally, its better third party. I'm not sure I'd like or would every use a Frontier forum style moderated discord server. The moderation would just kill the funny and spontaneous stuff which happens on the distant words discord for instance.

I don't know man, they could probably relax the rules a bit because it's a much tighter environment to control and problems can be sorted much more quickly
