General / Off-Topic Discount hotas one (if anyone's interested)uk

Last year I was playing elite exclusively on the hotas one. I took a 9 month break (space madness reasons) only coming back recently, I found getting back into the game with the hotas difficult. Obviously with using my elite controller for other games (yes there are other games), I have found my way back into ed with the controller so much easier. I haven't written off going back to the hotas eventually, but controller for now.

Hmm this as got me thinkin'. Do I buy another one so I have a spare fa when my 'Project Extension Cable' goes 'orribly wrong ?

HOTAS rules OK !

But buyer beware ifya buy one ya might get sucked inta constructing a all new CMDR's Cockpit in your front room ( if thats where ya console lives )...

As I typed earlier in another thread ....

''Working on a 'new' HOTAS rig to bolt on/under my recliner in front of the telly

> dismanteled a old metal framed chair, cut off surplus metal

>fabricated two sets of metal brackets and supports and primed with red oxide paint now ready for a final couple of black spray can coats to all metal parts

>fabricated four U bolts

>sourced, cut, prepped and varnished ( three coats) two bits o' ply ( high density ) that the throttle and stick will rest on.

Flew my ol' Krait low level canyoneering on a planet in the Chacc system.

ps Its 2150 and I've just finished with the three coats of black spray and fitted it all together and attached it to ma recliner, just gotta wait for the Amazon stuff (HDMI connectors n cable n bits and the Thrustmaster pedals to arrive ) and the new 'Pilot seat' will be complete. Till then I am gonna fly 'pedaless' with the short cable dangling between the stick n throttle. Right now I am waiting fa Wifey to go to work ( darn-it she doesn't start till 2200 tonight :/ )

pps The thinking behind purchasing the pedals is that moving my feet / legs during my gaming sessions will ease the ol' sciatica like pain in ma left side ( blinkin' Piriformis Syndrome :/) ''
