Discouraged, email sent to FD

Hi everyone, hate to start on a sour note but the new powerplay is MORE of a let down and things will only get worse for some as game items are added but newer players find it unobtainable without hours upon hours of zombie like grind.

As of now the updates before powerplay beta have been severely nerfed earnings in especially mining, now in powerplay (when it comes out), in bounty hunting if an accidental hit on say a police while fighting in a RES cannot be paid off and it takes 7 days for it to go away this means those of us that have a home system that we have adopted could be off limits because we would be attacked by NPC'S because we are wanted.

I've been reading on the forums and I am not alone in feeling that it's just too much nerf, I also think most people will agree that the game needs more content but to nerf Cr making play before content is added is the wrong direction that FD has taken because people have to grind like zombies for hours for a lot less (especially mining), but now even bounty hunting at RES is at risk for people when accidentally hitting an innocent.

Early adopters are now gazillionaires because they got in before the heavy nerfs (and I don't hold it against them as they deserve perks), but now unless we make ED our second job we won't be able to even hope to get there, and now new ships are here but they might as well be still unplayable because of the cost and we cannot hope to join the ranks of the 1%ers because of "randomization" they have put in which has seriously nerfed Cr opportunities, anyways this is just my thought and I'm not sure if I will pay for expansions if I am not able to earn without the hope of reaching my goals.

Edit; Ok, I should ask what the hell i'm doing wrong when I've got the best equipment available to mine with but instead of an improvement in Cr per hour it has taken a spiral downwards, I used to mine for 1 to 2 hours and walk away with 500,000 to 750,000 now all I find is indite, 35% on most days and platinum 3% maybe in pristine metallic rings, and yes I know what i'm looking for as it's been how I've been earning since I started, now i'm lucky to break 200,000 with 2 or 3 hours mining...how is that even possible now that I'm in a ship with more cargo holds and instead of a 40 ton cargo hold (cobra), I make less with more, it's frustrating to go backwards since the last update included "random" program, yet I never logged off and on just mined, I don't know, i'm at a loss.

2nd edit, no the new ship isn't the problem, I've tested that by going into a cobra again and I still get low %.

This is incorrect - a bounty cannot be paid off for 7 days, a fine can. You would have to 'accidentally' murder a police person for this to be a problem.

Yes, sure you figured me all out, your a dope...really you are.

Ok, must have misunderstood this, that is good news, thanks.

do you have beta axcess?

I noticed the CR nerf the past week or two. I think that FDev wants to cool the jets on CR acquisition, to make the lower tier ships the norm again, as well as to normalize the new power play missions.

Wait, how have the past patches NERFED income? Everything besides tradings profits got doubled, trading was left as is because it was already far and away the most profitable. There are some definite issues with this patch, but i don't see income being nerfed anywhere.

Then why do cops KOS when you singe their shields? Fines dont give you a big red "wanted" sign.

Nope, but read what they put on the site today.

Oh yes there has been, very much so especially in mining, the high ends in pristine metallic are down big time.

Have you mined before and now, the % are way, way down in pristine metallic.

Not in powerplay, as I wrote, before powerplay they hit mining with "randomization" so you either get a somewhat good mining or junk mining.

They don't - you have to actually damage them. With the friendly-fire rules, combined with a bit of mindfulness wrt my trigger-finger, I find it is almost impossible to 'accidentally' aggro NPCs (that's not to say it never happens to me, but its generally my own fault e.g., cycling through targets and accidentally (really!) shooting at the wrong guy - remember FF doesn't apply if you are targeting someone).

I don't feel like I'm playing the game you are playing, nerfed mining? in power play? what? its been buffed up if anything, missions been buffed, crime system fixed much better, sure there are some things that need to be ironed out but wow, I really don't understand where you are coming from, perhaps go into a bit more detail? explain how you see it, and what it is you wanted rather then what happened?

Why the focus on credits? They don't make the game more fun. Quite the opposite, in fact. Lots of credits = biggest ships and best equipment = least skill/effort to get stuff done. If you want to have fun, stick with smaller and poorly equipped ships.

I started in premium beta and took a couple of months break recently. When I return I'll be worth a relatively paltry 15 or 16M, and I've been playing over a year. Doesn't bother me, as I think if I had the decked out Anaconda I would have probably checked out a while back. Take it slow. See the sights. Focus on variety not credit grinding and try to have some fun!

I'm not in powerplay beta, only those with beta access can get those now.

Oh...... OK :S

Overall 1.3 looked like a good release to me and I didn't realise there's been such a Nerf on credits.

If you're a miner, which I get the impression you are I think you'll find that thanks to the addition of the drones you'll be making credits faster, but I could be wrong.

With regards to the fines and 7 days, that's not how I read it in the release notes.

I don't play Elite to grind for credits, yes, from time to time I need to but in the main I'm happily pottering around doing my own thing. Admittedly I haven't tried the mining side of the game, but seeing as the drones will cut out the scooping it's something I'll consider.

Out of interest, what is your goal?

With the new minerals now actually minable i can see mining becoming more like exploring (in a good way!).

When exploring, you go out looking for stuff, and then you spot an Earthlike or Black hole and its ka-ching!

Perhaps now same with mining. You go out, get some mining done, and then you hit an asteroid with Painite and it will be ka-ching!

Just going to throw this out there... The more a resource gets mined, the lower the yields will be, this is probably what you're seeing. I've been around since PBeta, and I can tell you that income has been seriously increased, not nerfed.

Sorry that you're not happy man, but I think you're seeing things through brown tinted glasses...
