Horizons Discoveries?

So i am embarking on a long journey to the other side of the galaxy in my 22ly asp.. (dont laugh) and i have been wondering if there is even any point?

so far planets all seem to share a rather familiar look and feel to them, systems seem to follow patters and aside from the odd degraded signal location ive yet to see anything truly unique whilst exploring near the California nebula and surrounding areas..

is there really anything to discover out there in the wider galaxy or is it just going to be a constant repeat of the same old in which case is their even any point venturing away from the bubble?

I'd say you never know. Frontier have stated there are lots of mysterious and hidden things out there that haven't been discovered. I have found from my travels that the further you venture out, the more unique systems and planets you find. Yeah there's quite a bit of repetition but with the inclusion of volcanic activity and biological entities such as fungi and others, not to mention ancient sites, (I'm sure there's more out there) it's worth exploring.

Imaging the thought of finding something first that no one has seen. Yeah the chances are low, but its still a chance :) and if you like exploring, that alone should be enough to venture into the void!

Yeah. I truly believe that it will be a lone explorer who will stumble upon an active Thargoid ship first before they're introduced to the community at large.

Imagine if it was you who experienced this, and frantically posted here, but didn't have the footage or images to back it up? You'd be called a fraud and a conspiracy theorist! Imagine the discussions!

Or, imagine if you did encounter it, and had the images to back it up! Imagine the frantic discussions then!!

You may just see the same kinds of systems and there's an excellent chance you'll get the first discovered tag on a bunch of them. I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary out there yet but that's because I've only been 5000 odd LY from the bubble and the galaxy is enormous. The whole point with exploring / discovering is that you never know until you find it. If you have the gumption to travel to the other side of the galaxy in a 22ly Asp then I think you should be fine.

Take an SRV hanger or the jump-honk routine gets monotonous after awhile. I went to Colonia on a 24ly jump AspX with no neutron star boosts and I burned out on scanning after about 11Kly. Only watery planets got any attention. I didn't see anything remarkable out there.

Get out there and find The Rift. And Thargoids. Make a map to Raaxla. Maybe start by finding where this sytem is...

edit: nevermind, the info is buried in endless conjectures and brain farts over several posts.:x

Seriously.
Find this system.

I thought that this system had already been found??

After reading through endless endless endless endless posts I found it was San Tu :)

Hard to keep up with the Canonn with all the jibber jabber replies they are garnished with. Sorry I'm a little late on the news feed!

Or imagine nobody has found anything for 2 years now and it's all just the usual procedural sameness out there;)

It's more a belief thing than anything else, OP.

Do you want to believe something extra ordinary can be found ?

If the "imagine if i found something" approach doesn't work for you (and by the sounds of it, it doesn't), then yeah, it's all just the same star and planet types in slightly different configurations and arrangements.

By the way, doesn't work for me either, that whole "oh but i could become famous"-gig doesn't do anything for me.

I still do exploration runs though.
