Newcomer / Intro Discovering systems

Hi Commanders!
I would like to find the mineral extraction sites in Mbukuravi but most of the system is unexplored. A scan with my basic discovery scanner doesnt discover anything?
What am i doing wrong?

Your basic discovery scanner only covers 500 ls, but resource extraction point s show up at a great distance than this, so you will likely see those on your navigation panel first. Is the system populated? If so, head for a station and scan again, if not you will have to try and spot the planets visually.

Discovery scanners only locate objects. For them to change to explored you have to target and scan them by pointing at them from a suitable distance. (You'll get feedback during the scan)

the stations should show on the Nav panel ... so work from that
